💫 Seriously like??

Blood pressure medications can deplete magnesium
Reflux medication can deplete B12
Statins deplete CoQ10

What do all of these have in common? They support energy production.

Sigh.

No Mary, your bloods aren’t done, the meds you are on are most likely making your fatigue, muscle aches & brain fog way worse and your thyroid has failed so low that yes you will experience:

- constipation
- hair loss
- cold hands and feet
- higher cholesterol
- low mood
- menstrual cycle issues and infertility

And so much more.

You deserve better care. And not being fobbed off with a fu***ng anti-depressant (which depletes not only joy but nutrients too).*

Share what meds you are on and I’ll make a list and put them in a masterclass so you can educate yourself on what nutrients you might need to be taking to counteract some of the side effects.

* I am NOT against anti-depressants but they need to be prescribed correctly.

💫 HbA1c - a routine marker that you need to know about

Such a key marker in those routine blood tests that most clients of mine don’t even recognize.

This is the one that shows you not just a snapshot in time of your blood glucose level, but a 2-3 month picture.

I’m happy to say my own is always around 31, but I work at it!

If you’ve never paid attention to it before, review your results and if you notice it trending upwards then don’t wait, and do something about it!

Nutritional therapy is perfectly suited to reducing your hbA1c as diet & lifestyle are big determinants.

Introducing blood sugar balancing principles, movement after means and certain supplements can really help.

BUT and this is a big but, you need to be realistic and be open and willing to make changes. If you won’t let go of your cereal for breakfast, sandwich at lunch and pasta with dinner, under eating protein and fiber and sit on your ass all day, well then it won’t change.

Blunt? Yes. But I do get frustrated when clients whinge about the changes after paying me for my expertise 😂 because when clients listen, they get results like this man. I knew he’d do it as he took everything I told him on board - without any follow up or coaching (which I do offer), so do your bloods, and ask yourself if you are ready to make a change?

Poor blood sugar handling can look like:
😣 Irritability
🤤 Cravings in particular sweet things
😴 Poor sleep
😩 Energy dips mid afternoon
🥺 Anxiety

And so much more. Please engage with this post if you find it helpful, like, share, comment etc 🥰

💫 Why I do what I do ❤️

Every day in my clinic I hear horror stories, only they aren’t made up or fiction, they are real.

Women of all ages being dismissed and not taken seriously, accused of hysteria and misdiagnosed.

Bloods not done even with real obvious symptoms - such as fainting and no iron being tested.

The only time symptoms are taken seriously is when they affect a male partner (how this is still happening in 2026???) or fertility - because sometimes we are little more than incubators.

I don’t think we are mad enough. We are all Jane Doe and we need to get louder and demand to be taken seriously, treated with respect and believed.

Whether that is coming from a medical or a consent point of view - listen and respect what we say.

Just like a no is always a no and only an enthusiastic yes is a green light, if a woman says she’s not feeling well and there is something going on, believe her.

I’m mad, can you tell?

If you are a male following me, please listen to the women in your lives but also stand up for them, make sure they are heard - even if they aren’t in the room, or the group chat.

💫 A bit of prep to save me stress during the week

4 of us to feed, a business to run, practitioners to mentor, animals to mind….

It’s a lot! So this is one of the ways I manage it. For some reason the photo of my soup & porridge bread won’t load 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you also do some batch cooking like me? I always have bits in the freezer too and you can’t go wrong with Lou Robbie recipes (as you can see I made her flu shots this time).

The soup was not approved my our 12 year old but she’s not a soup fan so I won’t take that personally 😂

Will you give any of these a go?

💫 Jumped on this trend 😂

I love pulling a good face! But seriously, let’s keep it all relative and not fall down any stupid rabbit holes because some wellness influencer said it, ‘k?

Follow auntie Gwen for information that’s actually evidence based.

And remember, there is NO one size fits all dietary approach. There simply isn’t.

Some of you will feel great eating more plants, some eating more animal products, some fasting for 14 hours.

Some of you will cook everything from scratch and some of you will use convenience foods.

Some of you will have allergies and some of you won’t.

Some of you will cultural and religious reasons for not eating something…

And no we don’t all have the same 24 hours and wellness routines are total bo****ks most of the time. Put the phone down - you don’t need dopamine seeking gadget ordering at 1am!!

💫 The medications you are using might deplete nutrients

And cause symptoms like
➡️ fatigue
➡️ brain fog
➡️ pins and needles
➡️ balance problems
➡️ muscle cramps
➡️ irregular heartbeat
➡️ bone loss (though you may not know this!)
➡️ mouth sores
➡️ muscle aches
➡️ headaches

The list goes on. Common nutrient deficiencies include B12, folate, calcium, vitamin D, B6, magnesium, potassium, B1, CoQ10 and B6.

Some of the medications that may deplete some of these nutrients include:
💊 Metformin
💊 Prednisone
💊 Oral contraceptive pill
💊 Statins
💊 Methotrexate
💊 Loop diuretics
💊 Omeprazole (proton pump inhibitors)
💊 Anticonvulsants

The main ones are metformin, POIs, Diuretics and Methotrexate.

Not everybody will become deficient but it’s a piece of the puzzle that often gets overlooked.

Did you know?

My next newsletter goes out tomorrow morning - that talks about some tests you may not be familiar with, all around cholesterol. Subscribe in the link in my bio 🥰
