Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

Being familiar with what’s normal for your breasts can help you recognise when something changes.

Breast cancer doesn’t always cause a noticeable lump, so it’s important to be aware of other changes too, including:

• Changes in breast size or shape
• Skin dimpling or changes in appearance
• Changes to the ni**le or unusual discharge
• A new lump or swelling in the breast or armpit

Most breast lumps are not cancerous, but any new or unusual change should be checked by your GP, even if it doesn’t feel hard or painful.

Breast awareness is important, but it doesn’t replace recommended breast screening.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, here’s your reminder to know your normal, notice changes and seek medical advice if something doesn’t feel right. 💗

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗
When it comes to breast health, one of the most important things you can do is get to know what’s normal for your body.
Breasts naturally vary from person to person and can change throughout your menstrual cycle, during pregnancy, breastfeeding and menopause.

Knowing what’s normal for you can help you recognise when something is different.

💗 A new lump or swelling in your breast or armpit
💗 A change in the size or shape of your breast
💗 Skin dimpling or changes in the skin
💗 Changes to your ni**le or unusual discharge
💗 Persistent pain or another change that feels unusual for you

These changes don’t automatically mean cancer, but it’s important to have new or unusual symptoms checked by your GP rather than ignoring them.

Breast awareness isn’t about checking for cancer alone. It’s about feeling familiar with your body and knowing when something needs attention. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, take a moment to check in with yourself and encourage the women in your life to do the same. 💗

Know your normal. Notice a change. Get it checked.

Menopause & sleep 💚

Sleep disturbance is a really common symptom during perimenopause and menopause. For many women, night sweats and feeling overheated can make it difficult to fall asleep, cause you to wake during the night or make it harder to get back to sleep.

And it’s not just about feeling tired the next day. Ongoing disrupted sleep can affect your mood, concentration, energy levels and overall quality of life.

Keeping your bedroom cool, choosing breathable nightwear and bedding, and having good sleep habits can all help. For some women, finding products that help regulate temperature can also make the night a little more comfortable.

I was sent some products from Woolow to try, and I’ve been really enjoying them. Having used them for well over a year now, through both summer and winter, I can confidently say I’ve really enjoyed the comfort and temperature regulation they provide. I was particularly interested to try them from a menopause perspective.

Thank you to the team at Woolow for sending these to me 💚

If you’re experiencing ongoing sleep problems or troublesome night sweats during perimenopause or menopause, it’s also worth discussing your symptoms with your GP or menopause specialist, as there are treatment options available.

You can find more information about Woolow and their products on their Instagram page and website.

Do you leak when you run, jump or play sport? 💚

As part of International Adolescent Health Week (12–18 October), we’re continuing the conversation about girls’ health in sport.

It’s not something many people feel comfortable talking about, but urinary leakage can affect young female athletes.

You might notice it when sprinting, jumping, landing or taking part in other high-impact activities.

Although it can be common, that doesn’t mean you should feel you have to accept it or keep it to yourself.

Pelvic health physiotherapy can help assess your symptoms, understand what’s contributing to them and explore appropriate treatment options.

We want girls to feel comfortable asking questions about their bodies and know that support is available when something doesn’t feel right.

💚 Let’s make pelvic health part of the conversation about girls in sport.

Introducing Anatomy Health 360° 💚

When was the last time you properly checked in with your body - not just when something hurt, but to see how you’re actually doing?

We’re often good at waiting until something goes wrong before seeking help. But what if we took a more proactive approach to our health?

Anatomy Health 360° is our new 60-minute physiotherapy assessment designed to look at the bigger picture of your health and physical function.

We’ll look at areas such as strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, movement, exercise habits, core function and pelvic health, including women’s health where relevant.

You don’t need to be injured or have a particular problem to benefit. Whether you want to maintain your strength, address a few niggling concerns, understand changes in your body or simply invest in your long-term health, this appointment is an opportunity to check in and see what your body needs.

You’ll leave with a clearer picture of what’s working well, what could benefit from attention and your personalised top three priorities for looking after your health.

Sometimes, being told you’re doing well and knowing what to keep doing is just as valuable as identifying something to work on. 💚

✨ 60 minutes | €100 introductory price until 31st October

Appointments are available to book online through our website.

Because looking after your health shouldn’t only happen when something goes wrong.

Anatomy Health 360° - a complete check-in for how you move, feel and function.
