//November is Mouth Cancer Action Month 💙
Every November, the Oral Health Foundation brings together health professionals, organisations, and communities for one vital goal: spotting mouth cancer early. This year, dental students across Europe are standing together to make a difference.
With over 390,000 new cases diagnosed worldwide each year, mouth cancer is the most common head and neck cancer. It can appear on seemingly normal mucosa or start as subtle white or red patches. Because it is often painless in its early stages, many cases are caught late—when treatment becomes far more complex.
Early detection changes everything. Regular dental check-ups and knowing what to look out for can save lives. The sooner it’s found, the simpler the treatment and the better the outcome.
Awareness starts with a conversation. Talk to your friends, family, and loved ones about the signs—especially anyone ignoring an ulcer or patch that won't go away. A single conversation could encourage someone to get checked.

If in doubt, get checked out.
