There’s something about an old-school tattoo shop.

The flash-covered walls, the buzz of the machines, the stories, the laughs and the conversations that somehow always go a little deeper than expected.

Between Asher’s 16 years tattooing, Jody’s decades of experience and Brandon bringing his own style to the shop, there’s plenty of history, knowledge and personality under one roof.

We’ve had people walk through these doors for all sorts of reasons. First tattoos, big milestones, memorial pieces, fresh starts. And more than a few have called their appointments therapy.

We reckon there’s something pretty special about having a place where you can sit down, switch off for a few hours and just be yourself.

We’re keeping things old school. Good people, good tattoos, plenty of flash to choose from and no shortage of stories.

And yes, we now offer Afterpay too.

Jody Ward
With 39 years in tattooing, Jody is a true old-school local legend and a familiar name to generations of tattooed people around New Zealand. He has a long and colourful history in the local tattoo scene, and for serious tattoo collectors or locals who simply love tattooing, having a piece by Jody is almost a necessity.

Jody tattoos much the same way he always has. No pen machines, no ipad and, more often than not, no shoes. A firm believer in grounding and happiest near the beach, he’s an incredibly kind, easy-going bloke and always good for a yarn.

Underneath all the stories and character is a genuine lifelong love for tattooing and a wealth of experience that simply can’t be taught. There aren’t many tattooists left who have experienced the trade quite the way Jody has.

A living piece of New Plymouth tattoo history, still here, still tattooing, and still doing it his way.
