The entire SMD Foundation Academy family proudly commends one of our own, WALID PANIOROTAN RASCAL, DipHLM, MSN, RM, LPT, RN for bagging 1ST PLACE - Oral Presentation (Professional Category) during the 3rd Bangsamoro Research Conference and 6th BARMM Health Research Forum held on September 29, 2026 at Aria Hotel, Davao City.

Walid presented his research study entitled “Determinants of Tuberculosis Case Detection Rates Among Healthcare Providers and Clients in the PAPABATA Inter-Local Health Zone: A Quantitative Cross-Sectional Study” representing the Lanao del Sur Provincial Hospital - a first-time participating institution in this prestigious regional forum - and bested other presenters before a panel of expert judges.

From walking the same hallways and sitting in the same classrooms as our students today, to standing on a bigger and wider platform for health research in the Bangsamoro — your journey is a testament that dreams nurtured in SMD Foundation Academy can reach far.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT | SMD Foundation Academy - MARAWI CITY

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh!

In compliance with MBHTE MEMORANDUM No. 0064, s. 2026 dated 10 September 2026 (28 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1448 AH) regarding the Observance of the Two-Day Wellness Break for Teachers and Implementation of Asynchronous Learning Modality, and in accordance with DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026 on the Guidelines on the Implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar in Basic Education, please be informed that September 14, 2026 has been declared a holiday in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in view of the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Election.

In line with this, the Ministry directs that the two-day Wellness Break for teachers in all public elementary and secondary schools in BARMM, which is provided to allow them time to rest, recuperate, and attend to their personal well-being after each term, shall instead be observed on September 15-16, 2026. As a private basic education school that has adopted the Three-Term School Calendar pursuant to DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026, SMD Foundation Academy likewise observes the wellness break on the same dates. During these two days, no meetings, trainings, Learning Action Cell sessions, school activities, reporting, submissions, or other official work shall be required of our teachers, as we respect and protect this period as a genuine break.

Furthermore, as an MBHTE measure for the orderly resumption of classes following the parliamentary election, all public and private elementary and secondary schools in BARMM shall implement asynchronous learning modality on September 17-18, 2026. During this period, learners will be provided with appropriate learning activities that they may accomplish at home without requiring real-time or in-person attendance.

Regular in-person classes shall resume on September 21, 2026, unless otherwise provided by subsequent issuances of the Ministry or appropriate authorities.

We encourage all students, parents, and guardians to coordinate with their respective class advisers for guidance on the asynchronous activities. Immediate dissemination and strict compliance are enjoined.

In observance of the 1st BARMM Parliamentary Election, please be informed of the following:

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 12317 resetting the first regular parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to the second Monday of September 2026, and Proclamation No. 1395, s.2026 declaring September 14, 2026 (Monday) as a Special Non-Working Day in BARMM to allow residents to participate in the elections,

And in accordance with the COMELEC Calendar of Activities where September 13, 2026 (Sunday) is the Eve of Election Day and Final Testing and Sealing:

📌 SEPTEMBER 13, 2026 (SUNDAY) - NO CLASSES
To give our students time to travel to their respective areas in preparation to vote / Final Testing and Sealing.

📌 SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 (MONDAY) - NO CLASSES AND NO OFFICE TRANSACTIONS
Special Non-Working Day in the entire BARMM Region for the 1st Parliamentary Election

Regular classes and office transactions will resume on September 15, 2026 (Tuesday).

Let us all take part in this historic milestone for the Bangsamoro — the first election of the Bangsamoro Parliament that will establish our regular democratic institutions.
