What it really means when you say no to…
🥧 slice of pie.
🍸 late night.
🥘 dinner out.

🍷 No to your aunt’s pie that’s way too sweet, means yes to a glass of wine.
🧘 No to after-work drinks, means yes to an early pilates class with the teacher you love.
💅 No to that 10-person dinner you’ve been dreading, means yes to a self-care night in.

It’s easy to get caught up in plans, especially during the holidays. There’s always a party, always a celebration, always a special food. You don’t have to miss out on anything if you want to lose weight. But you also don’t have to sacrifice your goals to be polite.

This is your reminder that every no to something you’re not excited about is actually a yes to something that does serve you.

Louder for the people in the back, Catie!

And thank you for being so honest: “I’ve never really loved Thanksgiving, a lot of time I felt guilt and received body comments, when in reality, that is far from the true meaning of Thanksgiving. I’m hoping to redirect this year to something more positive.”

How are you going into Thanksgiving?

If you need a last-minute Thanksgiving side, here it is. This sheet-pan recipe is 0 Points, mostly hands-off, and full of fiber.

Carbs are misunderstood.

The truth: They’re an essential macro (just like protein and fat) that powers everything we do. And there’s no research that says restricting them = more weight loss in the long run.

What’s also true: Not all types are created equal. So Fettuccine Alfredo doesn’t pack the same nutritional punch as oatmeal with blueberries. The key is to focus on complex, fiber-rich carbs like non-starchy veggies, whole grains, and beans.

Fiber helps keep you fuller and slows how quickly carbs from other foods are absorbed, which is especially important for people living with diabetes. If that’s you and you’re nervous about carbs, start by paying attention to how those different ones impact blood sugar levels.

Our Diabetes Program is designed to help you notice those trends, especially since you can track your glucose readings in the same place as your food.

Your holiday reminder: Maintaining—especially when life isn’t your usual routine—is something to celebrate. Even though it may not feel that way.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed or ready to skip every night out, try taking a weight-loss break until the holidays are over.

Switch your focus in the WeightWatchers app to "maintain weight” to get extra Points and reframe your goals for the next couple months.

This post is for everyone who’s ever wanted to become a “morning workout person.”

It takes time to build a habit. Instead of just setting an earlier alarm—and either snoozing it 5 times or ditching the entire plan after a late night—start smaller.

Shift your wake-up time 20 mins earlier and see how you feel. It’s OK if that means your workout is short…or you just use that time to sit and drink your coffee from a real mug.

Once that wake-up time no longer feels like cruel and unusual punishment (it may take a week, may take three), wake up earlier and repeat the process. Eventually you'll get to an hour workout. Or just stop at 20 minutes—any movement is good movement.

Save this post as a reminder that weight-loss plateaus happen to everyone—and sometimes there isn’t a good reason why.

When you hit one, keep doing what’s worked in the past and treat it as a chance to focus on all the other stuff: how your clothes are fitting, how you’re sleeping, how much energy you have, whatever. And know that it’s temporary.

How do you handle a plateau?

Eating raw cookie dough? Risky. Eating these pumpkin-spice bites? Delicious.

Our dough doesn’t include any raw eggs or uncooked flour (the main ingredients are chickpeas and pumpkin purée), so you don’t have to worry about skipping the oven.

Disbelief and confusion: Those are two words we often hear from members when they describe getting a diabetes or prediabetes diagnosis.

Dr. Jennah breaks down risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes—and we love how she explains it: “genetics is the lock and lifestyle turns the key.”
