Today is World Stroke Day. Every minute matters — would you recognize the signs? ⏱️

Remember BE FAST:
🅱️ BALANCE — sudden loss of balance or dizziness
👁️ EYES — sudden vision changes
😐 FACE — one side drooping
💪 ARMS — weakness or numbness on one side
🗣️ SPEECH — slurred or strange speech
⏰ TIME — call 911 right away

Halloween is fun… but for someone living with dementia, it can be confusing or even frightening. 🎃

A few ways to keep the night calm:
🔔 Constant doorbells + masked strangers can cause anxiety — consider a candy bowl outside or turning the porch light off
👻 Skip scary decorations that move, make noise, or look realistic
🍬 Watch the candy bowl for loved ones with diabetes or swallowing concerns
🏡 Keep routines (and lighting) as normal as possible after dark

If someone you love uses oxygen at home, a quick safety refresher:
🚭 No smoking, candles, or open flames anywhere near oxygen
🧵 Secure long tubing — it's a major trip hazard
🧴 Avoid petroleum-based products on the face (ask about water-based options)
🔋 Have a backup plan for power outages
📞 Call the provider if breathing changes, lips look bluish, or confusion appears
