It's an honor to support families during such a vulnerable but also amazing season of life. Our doulas have a special bond with families that is never forgotten. We live in a world where we are expected to bounce back immediately, be able to do all the things, find that mythical "balance" we heard so much about. Our bodies are amazing but we need time to heal, not feel pressured to bounce back. We are supposed to have a village that cares for mom, dad, and baby. Unfortunately, that's not always possible. In fact, it's a rarity these days to have the support we truly NEED. Your pregnancy and birth impacts your postpartum journey. And your postpartum journey not only impacts your overall health, nursing, nutrition, pelvic floor, but it can also affect future pregnancies. Every mom deserves a village.

You can have the most AMAZING family and friends and still need a postpartum doula.

Both things can be true.

One of the first things we ask potential clients is how comfortable they are asking for help. Are you Type A? Do you struggle to delegate? Can you communicate your needs when you’re overwhelmed?

Because especially as a first-time mom, you don’t know what you don’t know.

You don’t know what postpartum will look like, what you’ll need, or even what your village will look like once baby arrives.

And here’s something we don’t talk about enough.

You can LOVE your mom, MIL, sister, or best friend and still not want them in your home for hours every day during such an intimate season.

Maybe you don’t want your MIL helping you latch at 2 a.m. Maybe you feel guilty asking your mom to tackle the laundry. Or maybe you’re an overthinker who worries about asking too much.

Hellooo, we see you!

That’s where our postpartum doulas come in. They recognize what needs to be done and get to work. Laundry, dishes, nutritious meals, newborn guidance, breastfeeding support, and helping YOU build confidence.

No entertaining. No guilt. No worrying about hurting someone’s feelings.

And remember, your family and friends DO want to help. They just don’t always know what you need.

It’s okay to say, “I want to hold my baby. Could you bring dinner?” Or “Please hold the baby so I can shower!”

Your village doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

And that meal train? If you’re lucky, it lasts two weeks. Postpartum doesn’t.

We will shout this from the rooftops anytime we can! Schedule a prenatal lactation appointment!
Don't do what I did - wait until you are exhausted, hormones are crashing, ni***es are in excruciating pain and then try to find someone!
Connect with our IBCLCs during pregnancy, learn what a true latch should feel like, red flags to look for, chat about myths, fl**ge sizes, pump info, and misconceptions, etc... So when things aren't going as planned or you have questions, you already have our info!
