October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗 A time to honor those affected, support those facing a diagnosis, and make early detection a priority.
It’s also an opportunity to have thoughtful conversations about hormone health.
I want women to know: your long-term health AND how you feel every day deserve attention.
Poor sleep, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and feeling unlike yourself deserve more than “that’s just aging.” They deserve a thorough evaluation, because hormones aren’t always the only explanation.
Hormone therapy can help, but it requires an honest conversation about benefits and risks—including breast cancer risk. The type of therapy, duration, and your personal medical history matter.
A history of cancer doesn’t automatically rule out hormone therapy. The type of cancer, whether it was hormone-sensitive, and your treatment history all help guide that decision. Your healthcare provider and oncology team can help you explore appropriate hormonal and nonhormonal treatments.
This month, make room:
💕 Stay current on screenings and preventive visits, with screening tailored to your age and risk.
💕 Report new breast changes promptly, even if your last screening was normal.
💕 Talk openly about symptoms affecting your sleep, comfort, relationships, and quality of life.
You deserve care that takes your future seriously and listens to how you feel today. You deserve options.
