Meet our October Weekend Warriors! 🍂🏃‍♂️💪 From ultramarathons to CrossFit, this month’s athletes remind us that it’s never too late to challenge yourself, find your community, and discover what you’re capable of.

After more than 20 years away from running, William decided to lace up his shoes again at 40. What started as a goal to complete the St. Jude Marathon has turned into a passion for endurance running, including two 50-mile ultramarathons on back-to-back weekends! Now, he’s working toward running a marathon in all 50 states.

For Hollie, fitness is about honoring her parents, embracing healthier tomorrows, and lifting others up along the way. From tackling ultramarathons to coaching CrossFit, she finds her greatest joy in the community around her and helping others accomplish things they never thought possible.

Get to know William and Hollie and what keeps them moving! Pick up a copy of our October issue or read their stories at the link in bio 💙💚

When Lisa Mayo first joined She to Sea, a 500-mile charity bike ride benefiting West Cancer Foundation, she was riding in honor of others affected by cancer, including her husband.

She never imagined that one day, those same women would be riding for her.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024, Lisa underwent months of treatment and a double mastectomy. But she was determined to get back on her bike. In March 2026, she did just that, completing all 500 miles from Memphis to Seagrove Beach, Florida.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re sharing Lisa’s story of resilience, sisterhood, and the importance of early detection. Check it out at our or grab your copy today 💙💚

For Memphis mom of five Savannah Aime Grow, finding FIT4MOM started with a workout, but became so much more 💙💚

After struggling to find a fitness routine that fit into life with young children, Savannah tried her first FIT4MOM class in 2019. What she found was not only a way to feel stronger and more active, but a community of moms who became some of her closest friends.

Now, as the owner of FIT4MOM, Savannah is helping other Memphis moms find that same support through stroller-friendly workouts, run club, moms’ nights, playgroups and more. Because sometimes taking care of yourself isn’t just about fitting in a workout — it’s about finding your village along the way.

Spooky season is here, and so is our October issue 👻🎃

This month, we’re featuring Dr. Carrie Patterson, a radiologist who knows a thing or two about going the distance, both for her patients and on the marathon course.

After losing her grandmother to late-diagnosed metastatic breast cancer, Dr. Patterson found a calling in mammography and helping women understand the importance of early detection. And when she’s not caring for patients, she’s chasing some pretty major finish lines: she’s a two-time Boston Marathon finisher and recently completed the Berlin Marathon, marking her third of the six World Marathon Majors.

Happy 901 day + September issue day, y’all! 💙💚

Meet our September cover star, Rabbi Micah Greenstein, longtime Senior Rabbi of Temple Israel. He’s a dedicated community leader, 19-time marathoner, and Memphis’ very own “running rabbi.”

At 63, Micah still logs nearly 30 miles each week, but his approach to fitness has evolved from chasing speed to investing in longevity by prioritizing movement, recovery, and the mind-body-spirit connection that keeps him doing what he loves.

Inside our September issue, read more about Micah’s decades-long relationship with running, his commitment to serving Memphis, and why he believes getting older doesn’t mean slowing down.

Plus, there’s plenty more health, fitness, food, and inspiration from across the 901 waiting inside!
