Meet our SPOOKY Cool Dad for October, Nathan Huff. This Ta**us dad loves to “hate” Halloween, but he always dresses up every year, because his kids absolutley love it and he secretly loves it too. Nathan is a Mortgage Banker for Zillow Home Loans. His wife Katie recently served as our Welcome Center Supervisor. They have a son and daughter that mean the world to them and they love that they get to raise them in Milford where they also grew up. Nathan’s favorite food is a steak sandwich. Yumm-oh!
He says that his favorite pastimes are playing golf and taking trips up north with his family. Nathan has been coming to the Carls Family Y since he was a kids, and he loves being able to share it with his family. He even convinced his mother and in-laws to get involved.
“The Y is a great place for me to break up my workday, stay active, and recharge. What keeps me here is the strong sense of family and community it offers. It’s more than a place to work out.”
Nathan says it’s important to him for his kids to live in a community where they can feel safe and where they have room to grow and experience new things; whether it’s sports, life skills, friendship, or just being kids.
“Being a dad means being someone my kids can always count on, no matter what. It means being their protector, their teacher, their biggest supporter and someone who loves them unconditionally.”
Nathan’s kiddos LOVE to swim and they have learned so much from their swim instructor Dennis. They have participated in soccer at the Y and they plan to be involved in it for years to come. Also, their daughter just did her first year of Summer Day Camp and she had a blast! We are so happy that Nathan and Katie’s family are a part of our Y and we are proud to call him one of our YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit The Y
