Our seasonal Frankincense & Myrrh soap is getting closer to being ready, and look at those layers! The top is colored with honey, the middle is left its natural color, and the bottom gets its color from molasses.

**A little soapmaking magic: the In-the-Pot Swirl**

This technique is all about the pour! One color of soap is poured into another, and the height of the pour determines how deeply that color falls into the pot. By changing the pour height, we create movement and a swirl throughout the entire batch.

When the soap is poured into the molds, the result is a softer blend of color rather than big, bright chunks.

This batch is our Patchouli Soap, naturally scented with dark patchouli essential oil and naturally colored with cocoa powder.

Every bar starts with a little technique, a little patience, and a lot of handmade love.

Watch This Soap Transform

Our Sandalwood Vanilla soap is made with ground vanilla beans from . To create these beautiful layers, I have to separate the sandalwood and vanilla fragrances.

The top and bottom layers, where you’ll find the vanilla beans, are scented with sandalwood, which doesn’t discolor the soap. The middle layer is scented with vanilla — and vanilla fragrance takes this soap from a pale off-white to the rich, dark brown you see at the end.

This started as a test fragrance about two years ago. It sold so quickly that I decided it deserved a permanent spot in the Daisy G’s collection instead of being just a seasonal scent.

And now they’re ready to go!
