✨ TUMMY TUCKS: PAIN, DRAINS & SCARS — LET’S TALK!

There’s a lot of misinformation about tummy tuck surgery, so Dr. Lentz is here to break down what you should really know about recovery. 🤍

What about pain?
Tightening the abdominal muscles can cause discomfort and back pain. Dr. Lentz uses a multimodal pain management protocol, including nerve blocks, to help improve comfort and reduce the need for narcotic pain medication.

What about drains?
Dr. Lentz performs tummy tucks WITHOUT drains, using progressive tension sutures to secure the tissue and help minimize fluid buildup.

And what about scars?
A tummy tuck does leave a permanent scar, but placement matters! The incision is typically positioned low on the abdomen so it can often be hidden beneath underwear or a bikini. Scars gradually fade over time, and proper aftercare is key.
