But at VCU Health, there are special members of the care team that make the experience a little better: volunteer therapy dogs and their handlers from Dogs on Call.

💙Today is Donor Advised Fund Day. 💙This is how the Austin Germani Memorial Fund was established and has been able to donate over $50,000 since its inception. A DAF is limited to only receiving direct donations. I do try to get creative. However, every dollar we raise goes directly toward local nonprofits providing services that support youth mental wellbeing.
There is no greater investment than in our children and giving them a healthy foundation. We have really extended ourselves this year to help our nonprofit partners, Boys to Men Mentoring Network of Virginia, The Center for Human-Animal Interaction & Comfort Zone Camp.

Please check out our updated website for more about all the organizations we have been supporting and if you are able, we appreciate your donation.

We're always on the lookout for opportunities to share our mental wellness resources throughout the community. If you hear of any upcoming tabling events, vendor opportunities, or others chances to get our resources into as many hands as possible, please let us know!

Happy 25th Anniversary to CHAI!

This June, we’re celebrating a massive milestone: 25 years of the Center for Human-Animal Interaction! Founded in 2001 right here at VCU, we were the first center of our kind housed in a medical school. Here’s to a quarter-century of the human-animal bond! 🐾🎉
