🌿✨ SHIATSU MASSAGE: RELAX YOUR BODY, CALM YOUR MIND & RESTORE YOUR INNER PEACE ✨🌿

šŸ’š ONE APPOINTMENT REMAINING!

The Village Wellness, LLC will be at Baudette Wellness Co. on Tuesday, October 27th, and I have ONE Shiatsu massage appointment remaining from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM!

I wanted to take a moment to explain what Shiatsu is, how it works, and why I absolutely love incorporating this beautiful form of therapeutic bodywork into my wellness practice!

🌸 WHAT IS SHIATSU?

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of therapeutic bodywork that incorporates finger and palm pressure, rhythmic compressions, gentle stretching, and mindful touch to encourage relaxation, relieve muscle tension, and support overall well-being.

Shiatsu is rooted in traditional Eastern healing practices and works with pathways known as meridians, which are traditionally believed to carry vital life energy, or Qi, throughout the body.

One of the things I love most about Shiatsu is that it recognizes the connection between our physical bodies, emotional experiences, and mental well-being.

🧠 HOW DOES SHIATSU HELP WITH STRESS?

When we experience stress, our bodies activate the sympathetic nervous system, commonly known as our fight-or-flight response.

During this response:

🌿 Our heart rate may increase.

🌿 Our breathing can become faster and shallower.

🌿 Our muscles tighten, especially around our neck, shoulders, back, and hips.

🌿 Stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline are released.

🌿 Our minds may become overwhelmed with racing thoughts, worry, and anxiety.

When stress becomes chronic, our bodies can spend extended periods in a heightened state of alertness.

This is where intentional relaxation and therapeutic bodywork can be beneficial!

Shiatsu uses therapeutic touch, rhythmic pressure, and gentle movement that may help decrease muscular tension and encourage the body’s natural relaxation response.

This can help us transition away from that constant feeling of being on edge and toward a calmer, more restful state.

🌸 THE BENEFITS OF SHIATSU MASSAGE

šŸ’š 1. Stress Relief & Relaxation

Shiatsu may help reduce perceived stress and encourage deep relaxation. The combination of mindful touch, rhythmic pressure, and a peaceful environment creates an opportunity for your mind and body to slow down.

🌿 2. Relief From Muscle Tension

Stress doesn’t just exist in our thoughts. It can also show up physically through tight shoulders, a clenched jaw, stiff muscles, and tension throughout the body.

Shiatsu may help ease this muscular tightness, reduce discomfort, and improve your sense of physical relaxation.

🧠 3. Supports Nervous System Regulation

Therapeutic touch can encourage the body’s relaxation response, which involves the parasympathetic nervous system, often referred to as our rest-and-digest system.

This system helps regulate functions such as heart rate, digestion, and recovery.

While Shiatsu isn’t a treatment for nervous system disorders, it can be a supportive practice for relaxation and stress management.

šŸŒ™ 4. May Support Better Sleep

When we’re constantly stressed, getting restful sleep can be difficult.

By helping us unwind and release physical tension, Shiatsu may make it easier to settle into a restful state.

🌸 5. Emotional Wellness & Mind-Body Connection

Our emotional experiences and physical responses are interconnected.

Have you ever noticed your shoulders tightening when you’re anxious? Or your stomach becoming upset when you’re overwhelmed?

These are examples of how our nervous system responds to emotional stress.

Shiatsu encourages us to become more aware of physical sensations, reconnect with our bodies, and create space for relaxation.

✨ 6. Mindfulness & Being Present

During your session, you have an opportunity to disconnect from the demands of everyday life.

No responsibilities to juggle.

No rushing from one task to another.

Just an entire hour dedicated to your physical comfort, relaxation, and well-being.

🌿 WHY DO I RECOMMEND SHIATSU FOR STRESS RELIEF?

Because I believe taking care of our mental health also means making time to care for our physical bodies.

We cannot always eliminate the stressors in our lives, but we can develop healthier ways to respond to them.

Shiatsu is one of the practices I offer to help individuals intentionally slow down, experience therapeutic touch, and reconnect with themselves.

And sometimes, simply giving ourselves permission to rest can be incredibly meaningful.

Although research into Shiatsu specifically is still developing, massage and therapeutic bodywork have shown promising benefits for short-term relaxation, stress reduction, and certain types of muscular discomfort.

You do not have to wait until you’re completely overwhelmed or exhausted to make your well-being a priority. šŸ’š

🌿✨ SHIATSU MASSAGE: RELAX, RELEASE, RESTORE & RECONNECT ✨🌿

The Village Wellness, LLC will be at Baudette Wellness Co. on Tuesday, October 27th!

Did you know that stress doesn’t just affect your mind? It affects your entire body! šŸ’š

When we experience ongoing stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or difficult life experiences, our bodies can respond by tightening our muscles, changing our breathing patterns, increasing our heart rate, and keeping our nervous system in a heightened state of alertness.

Over time, this can contribute to muscle tension, headaches, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, irritability, and feeling physically and mentally exhausted.

This is one of the reasons I absolutely love Shiatsu bodywork! 🌸

🌿 WHAT IS SHIATSU?

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of therapeutic bodywork rooted in traditional Eastern healing practices.

The word Shiatsu translates to ā€œfinger pressure.ā€

During a Shiatsu session, I use gentle to firm pressure, rhythmic compressions, stretching, and other bodywork techniques along specific areas of the body.

Traditional Shiatsu works with pathways known as meridians, which are believed in Eastern medicine to carry vital life energy, or Qi, throughout the body.

From a physiological perspective, therapeutic touch and gentle stretching can help reduce muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and improve your awareness of what is happening within your body.

🌸 HOW CAN SHIATSU HELP YOUR MIND AND BODY?

🧠 Stress Reduction & Nervous System Regulation

When we experience stress, our sympathetic nervous system activates our fight-or-flight response.

Our muscles tighten, our breathing can become shallow, and our bodies prepare to respond to a perceived threat.

Shiatsu provides a calming environment with therapeutic touch and rhythmic pressure that may help reduce feelings of stress and encourage the body’s relaxation response.

šŸ’š Muscle Tension & Physical Relaxation

Stress can contribute to tension in our shoulders, neck, back, hips, and other areas of the body.

Shiatsu incorporates pressure and gentle stretching to help ease muscular tightness, promote comfort, and support greater freedom of movement.

🌿 Emotional Wellness & Mental Relaxation

Have you ever noticed how emotionally overwhelmed you can feel when your body is physically exhausted?

Our physical and emotional experiences are deeply connected.

Shiatsu creates an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your body, and experience a moment of peace without the demands of everyday life.

For some individuals, this can be especially meaningful during periods of emotional stress.

šŸŒ™ Sleep & Deep Rest

When your mind is racing and your body is tense, getting restorative sleep can become difficult.

By encouraging relaxation and reducing physical tension, Shiatsu may help you unwind and prepare for more restful sleep.

✨ Mind-Body Awareness

One of my favorite aspects of bodywork is helping individuals reconnect with their bodies.

Sometimes we become so accustomed to living with stress that we don’t even realize how much tension we’re carrying.

Shiatsu gives us an opportunity to become aware of those sensations, practice being present, and allow ourselves time for intentional rest.

And this Tuesday, your Shiatsu experience will take place inside the SALT ROOM at Baudette Wellness Co.! šŸ§‚šŸŒæ

Imagine an entire hour dedicated to yourself, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the salt room while receiving therapeutic Shiatsu bodywork.

The salt room provides a beautiful environment for relaxation and mindfulness. Although specific medical benefits of salt-room therapy have not been firmly established, the calming atmosphere can complement your massage experience.

🌸 WHY CHOOSE SHIATSU?

Because taking care of your mental health also means making time to care for your physical body.

Because rest is important.

Because relaxation is not something we need to earn.

And because sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do for ourselves is give our mind and body permission to slow down.

WELLNESS DAY AT RIVERFRONT STORE IN WANNASKA šŸ¤

On September 12th, I’ll be bringing The Laughter Patch Integrative Health and Energetic Healing, LLC out to Riverfront Store for a full day of movement, rest, sound and healing.

I’m really looking forward to spending the day in Wannaska and creating a space where we can slow down for a little while, breathe, move our bodies and just be.

We’ll start the morning with yoga at 9:30 AM SHARP.

After yoga, we’ll move right into a 30-minute sound bath so you can go from movement into stillness and allow your body to fully settle and relax.

Then at 11:15 AM, we’ll do it all again with another yoga flow followed by a 30-minute sound bath.

Each Yoga + Sound Bath experience is an hour and a half and is $30 per person.

There are ONLY 5 SPOTS available for each yoga and sound bath session, so you MUST pre-register if you would like to attend.

Then from 1:30–5:00 PM, I’ll be opening up three spots for private 1-hour Shiatsu sessions.

Shiatsu appointment times:
1:30 PM
2:45 PM
4:00 PM

Shiatsu sessions are $130 for one hour.

If you have never experienced Shiatsu before, it is a beautiful form of therapeutic bodywork that uses pressure, stretching and movement along the body’s meridian pathways. It can be such a grounding way to reconnect with your body, release tension and simply give yourself an hour where you don’t have to do anything except receive.

You do NOT have to be experienced in yoga to come. You don’t have to be flexible. You don’t have to know what you’re doing. Come exactly as you are. šŸ¤

This day is about taking some time for YOU.

Move.
Breathe.
Rest.
Release.
Reconnect.

Pre-registration is required for ALL sessions.

To reserve your spot, please contact Cass at 218-469-5786.

I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone out at Riverfront and sharing a beautiful day of wellness together.

With love,
Cass šŸ¤

I’m going to be out at Riverfront in Wannaska on Monday, August 24th offering Reiki, Shiatsu and combination Reiki + Shiatsu sessions.

I wanted to explain these sessions a little more because I know sometimes we hear the words Reiki or Shiatsu, but unless you have actually experienced them, you might not really know what happens during a session or which one might be right for you.

SHIATSU

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork practice based on principles also found in traditional East Asian medicine. Instead of using oils and traditional massage strokes, I use comfortable, intentional pressure with my hands, palms, fingers and thumbs along different areas of the body and traditional meridian pathways.

A Shiatsu session is generally done fully clothed. You get to relax while I work with gentle pressure, stretching and movement based on what your body needs that day.

Shiatsu can be a beautiful option for supporting relaxation, easing everyday muscular tension and stiffness, encouraging body awareness, and helping you settle out of the constant go-go-go that so many of us live in.

For me, Shiatsu isn't about forcing the body to do anything. It is about listening to the body and working with it.

REIKI

Reiki is completely different because there isn't the same physical pressure or bodywork.

During a Reiki session, you simply get comfortable and rest. I work with gentle hands-on or hands-off techniques depending on your comfort level and boundaries.

People often use Reiki as a complementary wellness practice for relaxation, stress reduction, meditation, emotional grounding and creating intentional time to slow down and reconnect with themselves.

Every person's experience is different. Some people feel warmth or tingling. Some become deeply relaxed. Some don't notice specific physical sensations at all and simply enjoy having an hour where absolutely nothing is expected of them.

There is no "right" way to experience Reiki.

REIKI + SHIATSU

This is probably one of my favorite ways to combine the work I do because you get two very different experiences in one session.

For the 60-minute combination session, we spend approximately 30 minutes with Shiatsu and 30 minutes with Reiki.

We can begin with Shiatsu, using pressure, stretching and bodywork to address areas where you're holding tension and help the body begin settling down.

Then we transition into Reiki.

The physical work becomes quiet. You get to rest. There is no stretching, no pressure and nowhere you need to be mentally. You simply get to receive.

I love this combination because Shiatsu gives us an opportunity to work with the physical body while Reiki gives you intentional space for stillness, relaxation and energetic or spiritual reflection if that is meaningful to you.

It creates this beautiful progression from movement and touch into complete rest.

These practices aren't replacements for medical or mental health treatment, and I will never tell someone they are. They are complementary practices that can be used alongside the healthcare and healing practices that are already supporting you.

And you absolutely do not need to be "spiritual" to book with me.

You can come because you're stressed.

You can come because your muscles feel tight.

You can come because life has been busy and you need an hour where nobody needs anything from you.

You can come because you're curious.

You can come simply because you want to rest.

You don't have to know anything about Reiki, meridians, energy work or Shiatsu before you walk through the door. I will explain what we're doing, answer your questions, talk about your comfort level and boundaries, and meet you where you are.
