It's All Yoga A virtual movement studio for women in their 40s through 70s who want to get genuinely stronger without the hustle, the harm, or the transformation promises.

Slow is the strategy here. Personal attention is the standard.

Maybe it’s been six months.
Maybe it’s been six years.

Maybe the last time you moved consistently was before the surgery, the diagnosis, the caregiving season, the grief, the pandemic, the job change, the hormonal chaos, the life thing that took every last bit of you.

And maybe some part of you has been quietly wondering:
Did I miss my chance?

You didn’t.

Your body is not keeping score.
It’s keeping the door open.

I wrote Slow Is The New Strong because I’ve spent 25 years watching smart, capable women assume they’re too late, too inconsistent, too injured, too behind.

And I just don’t buy it anymore.

This free guide walks through 5 fitness myths midlife women can stop carrying around — including the one that says if you’ve fallen off, you’ve lost your window.

You haven’t.

You’re allowed to begin from here.

It’s free, and you can grab it through the link in my bio.

“Shoulders back!”
“Chest up!”
“Sit straight!”

No thank you.

I’m much more interested in building a body that can support you than teaching you how to hold
yourself in one supposedly perfect position all day.

Posture changes.
It SHOULD change.

You lean in. You curl up. You reach. You twist. You slump on the couch with the cat.
Then you move again.

What matters is having enough strength, mobility and awareness to move between positions well.

So this month we’ll work the back body.

Not because anyone needs to “fix” your posture.
Because a strong back helps make life easier.

Your best posture is your next posture.

Every once in a while someone says to me:
“I know I should be strength training. I just don’t know where to start.”

Usually this is whispered like a confession.

It does not need to be.

You do not need to become a gym person.
You don’t need to know the names of all the exercises.
And you definitely don’t need to punish yourself into getting stronger.

You need somewhere to begin.

Inside It’s All Yoga, strength is simply part of the practice. We go slowly. We pay attention. We
challenge the body without treating it like the enemy.

You can try the whole studio free for 10 days.

And if you’re thinking, “No, I actually want someone to tell me exactly what to do with the weights,” get on the Mindful Muscle Club waitlist.

That’s exactly what it’s there for.

If you take class with me this month, you may get tired of hearing: Hinge, don’t hunch.

I’m okay with that.

Because learning to hinge well isn’t just an exercise thing. It’s a life thing.

You bend down all day long.

Laundry. Groceries. Gardening. Pets. Children. Boxes that somehow become heavier the minute UPS leaves them on the porch.

The more your hips and legs know how to share that work, the better.

This is one of my favorite things about strength training.

We’re not practicing movements so we can become excellent at exercise.
We’re practicing movements so everyday life stays easier.

I’ve taught yoga for more than 25 years.

I love it enough to tell you what it doesn’t do.

For most women in midlife and beyond, yoga alone isn’t enough to give our bones all the stimulus they need.

That’s why strength work has become such an important part of what I teach.

Not because yoga stopped working.

Because bodies need more than one kind of movement.

You can love your mat AND pick up a weight.

In fact, around here, we do both.

What’s easier for you to make time for right now: yoga or strength?

Two things can be true:

Slow is the new strong.

And...

Bones like a little speed.

The slow part is the big picture.

We build strength patiently. We stay consistent. We skip the hero days that leave us limping around for a week wondering what we were trying to prove.

But inside that slow, steady practice?

A little speed can be useful.
A brisk step. A small hop. A heel drop. A movement that says, “Hey bones, pay attention.”

And please note the word little.

You don’t need to launch yourself across the living room.

Slow build. Quick bones.

That’s October.

Your skeleton is not a finished project.

I know. It sounds strange to think of bone as something alive and responsive because mostly we don’t think about our bones at all.

Until somebody hands us a scan with a number on it.

I’d rather talk about them now.

Calmly. Practically. With a little weight in our hands.

October inside It’s All Yoga is Strong Bones, Tall Spine.

We’ll be exploring the kinds of movement that give bones a reason to stay strong and the back-body strength that helps us move through the world feeling supported.

No scare tactics. No perfect posture.
Just building what we want to keep.

Want to practice with us? You can try It’s All Yoga free for 10 days.

I know slow is not the message most women are getting.

Most of the world is still yelling about more, faster, harder.

But I have been teaching bodies for 25 years.

I have lived in a body that had to be rebuilt.

And I trust slow.
I trust careful.
I trust consistent.
I trust the kind of strength that compounds quietly over time.

That is the work we do here.

You know what’s interesting?

Most of us don’t wake up one morning and decide:
I’m done rotating now.
No more getting down on the floor for me.
I’ll only use 60% of my shoulder range from here on out. 😂

Those movements just slowly disappear.

Life gets more forward-facing. More chair-shaped. More convenient.

And eventually we mistake unpracticed for unable.

That’s one of the things I love about yoga and strength work.
We get to keep reminding the body of everything it can do.

Not perfectly.
Not aggressively.
Just regularly.

Which one on this list made you think, “Huh. I don’t do much of that anymore”?

And if you’d like more ways to keep strength, mobility and flexibility on the menu, you can try It’s All Yoga free for 10 days. Link in bio.

I wasn’t planning to run Mindful Muscle Club again until January.

Then enough of you asked that I started to reconsider.
And honestly, fall makes sense.

The kids go back to school. Schedules shift. The calendar gets rearranged.

And maybe, somewhere in there, we remember that we’re a person who needs looking after, too.

So, I changed my mind.

I’m quietly putting together a small October group for Mindful Muscle Club.

12 weeks of getting stronger, paying attention, and learning how to work with the body you have now.

No gym culture. No punishment. No trying to keep up.

Just thoughtful strength work, support, and a small group of women doing it together.

We start October 6.

If you’ve been thinking about it, consider this your little nudge. 🖤
