Charlotte has had to learn how to trust her body again twice.
After a significant low back injury, she worked her way back to working, working out, and feeling like herself again.
Then she was rear ended by a car going 55 mph.
And suddenly, she had to start over.
When Charlotte came back, we didn’t start with deadlifting from the floor.
We started with what she could tolerate.
An isometric hold on the Roman chair.
Then an RDL.
Then we kept building.
And this week, Charlotte trap bar deadlifted from the floor for the first time since the accident.
To someone else, that’s just another exercise.
For Charlotte, it’s another piece of her independence coming back.
Another reason to trust her body.
Another reminder that she’s capable of more than she could do a few months ago.
We’re not finished.
But that’s what good rehab should look like.
Meet someone where they are. Build their capacity. And prepare them for where they want to go.
Follow if your goal isn’t just to hurt less, but to get back to doing the things that make you feel like yourself.
