My day started with a beautiful WhatsApp message from one of my ladies in my private community and then teaching privates and classes and members who wanted to take pics and share love!

We create the life we want. A year ago I was drowning. Today, I am alive and thriving!

Grieve the old you then get to the work of creating who you want to become!♥️

What if you stopped waiting for the perfect time to live a little more beautifully?

Picture yourself here.

In the Italian countryside, surrounded by beauty, enjoying slow mornings, delicious meals, Pilates, laughter and conversations with women who understand that life is meant to be lived, not simply managed.

Because this is about so much more than Pilates in Italy.

It’s about the woman who has spent years showing up for everyone else, putting her dreams on the back burner, promising herself she’ll travel, rest, explore and do something just for her.

Someday.

Well, my love, someday has a date.
September 26 – October 3, 2027. Puglia, Italy.

A week to move your body, nourish yourself, experience something new and share that extraordinary energy that happens when women gather with room to simply be themselves.

No roles to perform. No one to take care of. Just the pleasure of being a woman enjoying her life.

And because September 2027 gives us time, reserving your spot now means taking advantage of an extended payment plan. You don’t have to wait until you can pay for the entire experience at once to say YES to yourself.

Curious? Come dream with us.

Join me and our retreat hosts, ALITHEA TRAVEL for a live FAQ on Sunday, November 22 at 10:30 AM PST. We’ll talk about the experience, answer your questions and help you imagine yourself there.

DM me ITALY for the details, the FAQ invitation or to reserve your spot.

You’ve spent enough time imagining the life you want.

Come live some of it.

Such a powerful message!

When I opened this studio with my ex husband three years ago, I thought life would be different. Then two weeks after opening I was told I would need revisions of these knee replacements. I was gutted! I was scared.

Last year the man I just married revealed his capacity and I had to make a choice. Stay and be less or say f**k it and become someone I had never been before.

And now here we are and the way is just becoming clear. I have a wonderful team of instructors, a new vision and focus for the studio, a skincare line launching in a few weeks and editing my first book.

You don’t know all the ways your life can change and influence those around you.

I am so f**king grateful. For all of it. I don’t wish things were different because that’s a fools errand. I am different and this life is of ease. Does that mean life is perfect? Not at all and that’s not the goal. Gratitude paves my way and knowing that what is doesn’t define or dictate what’s possible.

Life is movement and the gratitude for it. In all ways♥️

Joy is your right! Right now! ♥️

At 53, my desire to prove anything to anyone by dressing the role of studio owner and instructor are over.

If you’ve been looking for private pilates with a trainer who is experienced and knowledgeable about the body, I’m your gal. This years makes 35 years in fitness and wellness.

If you just need your trainer to look like pretty, they’re out there too. Good luck!💕

“ I figured I needed to stay alive since I’m still here.”

She’s 85 years old. She’s never done Pilates before. And she started because her grandson suggested she should.

When I asked her why she wanted to start something new at this point in her life, that was her answer. I haven’t stopped thinking about it.

Not because it was some grand declaration about aging gracefully or a commitment to a fitness goal.

Just a woman who’s still alive, deciding to do something with that fact.

After her first private session this week, I checked in to see how her body felt. AS you can read from her reply, she felt flexible and lithe. That walking felt different. That she wasn’t experiencing the resistance to movement she usually pushes through.

This is what I wish more people understood about Pilates.

You don’t have to have done it your whole life.

You don’t have to be young.

You don’t have to arrive knowing what you’re doing.

You can start at 85. Hell, our good man Chuck started at 87! My youngest client was 9 when I started working with him.

You can start when your body feels unfamiliar, when movement has become harder, or simply because someone you love thinks you should give it a try.

You don’t need a perfect reason. You just need to be willing to see what’s possible.

And sometimes, the reward is feeling like you’re gliding instead of pushing through.

You’re still here. What might your body discover next?

What if becoming a better Pilates teacher has less to do with learning more exercises and more to do with learning how to see?

To see the person in front of you, not just the movement they’re performing.

To recognize when a body needs something different from what the manual prescribes.

To get curious instead of making assumptions.

To adapt without making someone feel like a problem.

To create a space where people feel safe enough to discover what they’re capable of.

And to remember why you fell in love with teaching in the first place.

The Teacher’s Lens: Teaching With & From Joy.

I’ve been working on a book about the somatic side of teaching Pilates; the awareness, observation and human connection that transform a sequence of exercises into meaningful work.

Because knowing the repertoire is one thing. Knowing how to work with the human being in front of you is another.

Whether you’re considering becoming a Pilates teacher, already teaching, or simply curious about what makes movement such a powerful part of being human, there’s so much more to discover when we learn to look beyond the exercise.

The draft is finished. Now comes the editing.♥️

And today, I’m sharing a little glimpse of what’s taking shape.

The Good House is truly a find.

As a solo woman traveler, even when I was married, boutique hotels are my go-to and having stayed in most of the quaint spots in Palm Springs, this year, at the suggestion of a new friend, I tried The Good House in May after teacher training and stayed for five days.

There is literally no other spot for my retreat than this perfect little spot in Desert Hot Springs.

This man has created the absolute perfect hideaway to find silence, decompress and rejuvenate. Fantastic service from the time you step through the gates. Massages are TOP TIER and the food is made with love by Chef Van.

Yeah, this is a love letter for a safe space of joy and community and if you need fancy, pass. If you need rest and peace and just a few people, this is your only option. Oh and the mineral baths are all you need for the best sleep of your life. You just need your bathing suit.
