How you process, work through and recover from trauma or really difficult life experiences is NOT one-size-fits-all, and neither are the choices we make along the way. 🧡
You don’t have to forgive someone who hurt you to heal. You don’t have to cut off your family to establish healthy boundaries. And you don’t have to process trauma or move through difficult experiences on anyone else’s timeline.
BUT If you want to forgive, forgive. If you need to go contact, go no contact. If your boundaries are flexible, that’s okay.
What feels empowering, safe, or helpful for one person may not be what another person needs.
Your relationships, circumstances, lived experiences, and access to support all matter.
And while social media loves to give us blanket advice about what healing should look like, the reality is much more nuanced.
Healing isn’t about following someone else’s rulebook. It’s about figuring out what works for you.
