Three Pilates exercises that look easy… until you focus on doing them correctly. 👀

1. The Saw challenges your rotation and reach while keeping your hips grounded.
2. The Roll Up asks you to articulate your spine with control instead of relying on momentum.
3. The Single Leg Stretch challenges you to coordinate your arms and legs while keeping your pelvis stable.

None of these exercises needs to look bigger, faster, or more complicated to become challenging.

Sometimes, the real work is in the details: precision, control, and intention.

The exercises were never easy. You just have to learn how to do them better.

Four movements. Two ways to work. 👀

Same Pilates method, different challenges. The Mat asks you to control your body against gravity, while the Reformer adds springs and resistance to the mix.

Different setups, different demands… and plenty of ways to be humbled. 😂

Mat or Reformer, which one are you choosing?

Your athlete can handle a challenging workout. But do you know why you’re choosing those exercises?

Teaching Pilates to athletes takes more than knowing the repertoire or making a session harder. It requires understanding the demands of their sport, recognizing what their body needs, and making intelligent exercise choices.

The goal isn’t to impress your athlete with how challenging a session can be. It’s to understand how the work can serve them.

That’s the thinking behind my Pilates for Athletes course: 6 sports, one classical method, and intentional teaching.

Launching this November! More details coming soon.

You can hold a plank for a minute and still find Pilates incredibly challenging. And there’s a reason for that. 😅

Pilates asks you to do more than hold a position or generate strength. It challenges you to:

- Stabilize your body while your arms and legs move.
- Coordinate different parts of your body while maintaining control.
- Recognize compensations you might not notice when relying on momentum.

Strength absolutely matters. But Pilates challenges you to use that strength with precision, awareness, and control.

Because being strong is great. Knowing how to control that strength? Even better.

Walking into Pilates like we own the place… leaving like our legs have officially resigned. 😂

The energy at the beginning vs. the reality at the end. 🫠

And somehow, we’re still coming back for more.

If your Pilates instructor keeps telling you to slow down… there’s a reason.

In Pilates, slower doesn’t necessarily mean easier. It can actually make the movement much more challenging.

1. Less momentum
Your muscles have to control the movement instead of letting speed do the work.

2. More time under tension
The longer you stay engaged, the more demanding even a simple exercise can become.

3. More awareness
Slowing down makes it easier to notice where you lose alignment, compensate, or rely on momentum instead of control.

So next time you hear “slow down,” don’t think you’re being asked to do less.

You’re being asked to feel more, control more, and move with intention.

In Pilates, it’s not about how fast you finish the movement. It’s about how well you control it.

Teaching Pilates to athletes takes more than knowing the exercises.

It requires understanding the demands of their sport and knowing how to apply the classical Pilates method with purpose.

From rotational power and deceleration in baseball to shoulder control and trunk stability in swimming, every athlete brings different needs to the studio.

So, how do you choose the right exercises? And how do you make the method relevant to the athlete in front of you?

My Pilates for Athletes course is coming soon. I’ll teach you how to connect the classical repertoire with the demands of specific sports, so you can teach with greater understanding and intention.

More details coming soon.

Pilates on the Reformer really does feel like leveling up. 😂

1 year in: making the hard stuff look easy.
1 month in: mastering the basics.
1 day in: questioning every life decision.

But that’s the beauty of Pilates. You start where you are, build your strength and control, and little by little, movements that once felt impossible start to feel natural.

Everyone starts at ground zero.
Keep showing up. The progression comes with time.
