Today we celebrate World HPP Day and want to share Sarah's story. She lived most of her life with unexplained pain and fatigue, until four years ago when she finally got an answer: Hypophosphatasia (HPP), a rare disorder that weakens bones and teeth.

"Someone once told me I 'looked fine' when I talked about my pain," she shares. "I was afraid people thought I was making it up."

At BAYADA, she found community through the ERC's ABLE group, people who understood and gave her the courage to speak up. Her message to all of us: look closer at your coworkers, because someone next to you may be carrying something you can't see.

One year ago, Toby joined our team, following in the footsteps of his mom, a beloved clinical manager in one of our home health offices. Since day one, he has carried her legacy of compassion and excellence forward as a physical therapist. Toby is humble and quiet by nature, but his clients know him. They regularly ask for him by name because he treats everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect and builds genuine connections that can’t be taught.

Toby also shows what teamwork looks like. For more than eight months, he covered communities well outside his preferred territory without a single complaint, helping his office grow. Through it all, he stayed positive, dependable, and ready to do whatever the team needed.

At a recent all-staff meeting, Toby’s wife and children surprised him with a video message to honor him as he received the Remarkable Rookie Award. Here he is pictured with his Associate Director, Paige, who presented him with the recognition.

Our skilled nursing and habilitation teams from the Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC offices spent a day giving back at the 2026 Greater Winston-Salem Buddy Walk.

The Buddy Walk and Family Fun Day is the main fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem - DSA of GWS (DSAGWS). It raises funds and awareness, and it’s also a place where families connect, share stories, and celebrate the joy of raising a child with Down syndrome.

Our teams were right in the middle of it all, enjoying the food, music, carnival games, talent show, and plenty of smiles along the way. It was a joyful, family-friendly day, and a reminder of why being part of our communities matters.

U.S. Marine veteran Erik Lewis was honored in a Salute to Service pinning ceremony at a recent team bootcamp event in our Global Support Center.

Erik started at BAYADA as a recruiter. Along the way, he helped bring other veterans onto our team, speaking up for them and showing hiring teams how military experience translates to the civilian world. Today he leads our Veteran Services Transitional Care Managers and works with local offices to improve veterans’ access to care.

He opened the door for veterans to join our team, and now he’s opening doors to care for the veterans we serve. Thank you, Erik, for your service and for the way you serve every day. ❤️
