Employee Spotlight: Meet Erin!

As a Drug-Free Workplace and Wellbeing Trainer, Erin feels a deeply personal perspective to that mission. Her own experiences with mental health challenges and limited access to resources early in life inspired her to help break down barriers to care and make conversations around behavioral health more approachable.

Today, she is passionate about helping organizations shift from a reactive approach to a proactive one, normalizing mental health and wellbeing, connecting employees with resources, addressing substance use before it becomes a crisis, and giving people the tools they need to thrive.

Safex had the pleasure of hosting the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Columbus Chapter last Friday. Jonathan Schmidt with the Chemical Emergency Preparedness Advisory Council (CEPAC) and Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) presented on emergency coordination, preparedness, and response.

It was a great opportunity to bring safety professionals from Safex and organizations across Central Ohio together to share knowledge, exchange resources, and strengthen connections within the local safety community. We’re proud to support ASSP and create opportunities that help safety professionals learn from and connect with one another.

Employee Spotlight: Meet Ben!

Ben was first introduced to industrial hygiene through a summer internship at the SAIF Corporation in Oregon. As he's worked, he's found that ergonomic hazards matter much more than people think.

"Compared to a cloud of dust, a screeching machine, or a noxious chemical, the hazards associated with bodily movement can be a lot less obvious. Wear and tear on your body can add up over time, even if it doesn't seem that bad at the beginning."
