A WEEKEND OF REMEMBRANCE & SPIRITUAL TRADITION

Did you know October 31 through November 2 holds significance across several spiritual and religious traditions?

Here’s a little history behind the weekend:

October 31 | Halloween & Samhain
Halloween comes from All Hallows’ Eve, the night before All Saints’ Day. Its roots also connect to Samhain, an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of harvest and the transition into winter. A time of honoring the dead and reflecting on the connection between the living and spirit worlds.

November 1 | All Saints’ Day
A Christian observance honoring saints, known and unknown, and celebrating their spiritual legacy.

November 2 | All Souls’ Day
A day, particularly in Catholic tradition, dedicated to remembering and praying for loved ones who have passed.

October 31 – November 2 | Día de los Mu***os
The Mexican Day of the Dead, rooted in Indigenous traditions and later blended with Catholic observances. Families create ofrendas with candles, marigolds, photographs, and favorite foods to welcome and remember those who have passed.

What connects them?

Though distinct in history and belief, these traditions share themes of remembrance, seasonal transition, ancestry, and our relationship with life and death. Different cultures. Different beliefs. A shared human desire to remember, honor, and connect.

We don’t have to practice every tradition to appreciate its meaning. Curiosity creates connection. Wishing everyone a meaningful and magical weekend.

Almost 30 days left at the Hub. And if I’m being honest, I’m in an overwhelming season right now.

The transition out of the physical space has been emotionally heavy, financially expensive, and filled with unknowns. I’ve spent so much time building a vision, and now I’m learning what it means to let one version of it go while continuing to build the next.

Thrivewell Becoming is still very much alive. The books, workshops, speaking opportunities, and so much more are unfolding. But the path forward looks different than I once imagined, and I’m learning to make room for that.

Tonight, I’m sitting in my safe space with music in my ears, trying to quiet my head. Not by silencing my thoughts or pretending the overwhelm isn’t there, but by giving myself the space to sit with it all.

One thought at a time. One feeling at a time. Allowing the noise to settle without needing to solve everything tonight. There’s a difference between silencing your mind and creating enough space to hear yourself again.

This is where the practice gets real.

It’s easy to talk about balance when life feels balanced. It’s another thing entirely when everything feels like too much. Sometimes balance means slowing down. Sometimes it means pushing through. And sometimes it means simply allowing yourself to be where you are without demanding more of yourself.

I don’t have all the answers right now. But I know this season isn’t forever, and I can take it one day at a time.

With almost 30 days left, I want to be present for what remains. To honor what this space has been while staying open to what comes next.

If you’re in an overwhelming season, too, remember: you don’t have to figure out the entire path tonight. Sometimes, you just need to create enough space to hear yourself again.

Still learning. Still building. Still becoming.

Come Home to Yourself.

A little change of scenery for Thrivewell Becoming this weekend!

The Hub will be open tonight from 4:30–7 PM and tomorrow from 12PM–2PM. Come say hi before we pack up and head to our first-ever Haunted Market with A Touch of Magick!

We’re so excited to join such an amazing group of supportive fellow business owners and friends for two nights of Halloween fun. We’ll be transforming our usual pop-up setup with a spooky twist as we step into the season of Halloween and Samhain.

One of the things I love most about this work is the opportunity to show up in different circles and create connections across them. There are so many ways people find meaning, practice reflection, and connect with themselves and others. I love being able to bring what we do into different spaces, honoring the things that connect us while celebrating what makes each community unique.

So whether you stop by the Hub before we head out or find us at the Haunted Market, we’d love to see you!

Some things have been quietly taking shape behind the scenes. A new chapter, a new creation, and something I’ve been pouring a lot of myself into.

On 11/11, I’ll be sharing something special. For now, I’ll just say… it’s been a practice in itself.

Stay close. ✨

✨ A special announcement close to my heart. ✨

I’m incredibly honored to share that I will be serving as the Decorations Chair for the International Women’s Conference (IWC) in 2028, when Boston will host this incredible event for the first time!

For those who may not be familiar, the International Women’s Conference is a gathering for women in Alcoholics Anonymous from around the world. It brings women together through fellowship, shared experience, strength, and hope as we celebrate recovery and the lives we continue to build in sobriety.

As someone who knows firsthand how transformative recovery can be, being part of creating an experience that welcomes, inspires, and connects women from all walks of life is especially meaningful to me. I’m excited to bring my creativity and heart to this committee and help make Boston 2028 a memorable experience for the women who gather here.

And to my sober sisters, near and far, this is an invitation!

If you’re interested in volunteering for any aspect of the 2028 conference, I would love to connect with you. There are so many ways to contribute your time, talents, creativity, and heart to an event of this magnitude. Whether you’re local to Massachusetts or would be traveling to Boston, there is a place for you to be part of this special experience.

📩 Interested in volunteering? Reach out to me at [email protected].

Recovery has given so many of us a life we could never have imagined. What a beautiful opportunity to come together, give back, and create something meaningful for the women who will walk through those doors.

I can’t wait to see what we create together. ❤️✨

I’ve been a little quieter here over the last couple of weeks, and there’s a reason for that.

After a rough chest cold, the exhaustion that followed hit me harder than I expected. Instead of pushing through and trying to catch up on everything I felt I should be doing, I listened. I gave my body the rest it was asking for.

And there’s a practice in that.

It’s one thing to talk about listening to your body. It’s another to honor it when your mind is running through the to-do lists, the plans, and everything still waiting for you. We can be so quick to override what we feel because we think we need to keep going. But sometimes, the work is learning when to stop.

With Monday’s full moon approaching, I’m reflecting on the importance of slowing down, creating space, and releasing what we no longer need to carry. Sometimes we don’t need another push. We need enough quiet to hear ourselves again.

And even in the stillness, the next chapter of Thrivewell Becoming is unfolding. Updates on remaining Hub hours, upcoming pop-ups, and some special announcements I’ve been so excited to share are coming soon.

Because becoming isn’t always about making the next big move. Sometimes it’s about honoring where you are and trusting that the work continues even when you rest.

A little reflection for you: Where have you been overriding what your body is trying to tell you?

Here’s to making room for both the becoming and the rest.
