Exciting day yesterday Shenandoah University celebrating the groundbreaking for the Dove Center for the Arts! What generosity the Dove’s have displayed with their landmark donation - it will impact generations to come in our community!
As an alumni watching my daughter sing as part of the ceremony on the perfect fall day with my 2 little loves beside me I had a sweet moment reflecting on what a great life Jeff Botta and I have been blessed to build here in Wi******er after meeting and graduating from SU.
Jeff & I are now both healthcare professionals serving in the community that trained us. Our kids are growing & learning & making childhood memories here. And for years to come they will drive by & visit SU & remember they were there the day this all started. Pretty wild.
With my un-napped rambunctious toddler on my lap, my imaginative daughter coloring in the chair bedside me, and my oldest daughter displaying her gift of music - What a moment. What a gift. What a life.
And let’s not forget to highlight the flexibility and coordinated effort it took to make this moment happen! Patients graciously rescheduled their appointments, people rearranged their plans, a seamstress turned around a last minute dress arrival in 24 hours, snacks and activity bags were packed, hours of practice and memorizing… even in our small microcosmic, it was a team effort.
So thank you to SU, my patients, and community members who all participated to give me this sweet moment in time with my little VIPs. Being present for moments like these is one of main reason I started this practice. I knew I could have a meaningful, rich family life *and* take care of patients. I just needed the right working environment to make the dream come true!
Lord, thank you for this life and this sweet moment in time. I won’t forget it!
