Your vote matters. If someone tries to turn you away, interfere with your ballot, or campaign inside your polling place, call the hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683) immediately.

Some tips ahead of election day:

🗳️ If someone challenges your eligibility at the polls, ask for a provisional ballot. Poll workers cannot turn you away.

⏰ If you're in line when polls close, STAY IN LINE. As long as you’re in line before closing time, you have the right to vote, no matter how long the wait.

⚠️ Poll watchers can observe, but they cannot question voters directly, touch ballots or equipment without consent, or campaign inside the polling place.

Know your rights and call Election Protection if you need help.

If you went home from inpatient rehab with more questions than skills, you know how tricky it can be to rebuild your life after SCI. Kessler Foundation in New Jersey built its SCI Navigator Program so people with SCI and their families don’t have to do that alone.

The program is free and open to adults with SCI who received rehab services at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. Each participant works with two navigators, a primary and a secondary, for up to two years, on things like getting to a medical appointment, making a home accessible, understanding paperwork or tracking down a community resource. Current clients range from people freshly discharged to people up to 40 years post-injury.

“It has been so rewarding to know that we can support people by getting them connected with the [right] resources, support and solutions they need to thrive in their homes and communities,” says Dr. Denise Fyffe, who oversees the SCI Navigator Program.

Federal law protects the right of all voters to receive accommodations and cast a private, independent ballot. But voting accessibility measures such as mail-in voting, curbside voting and electronic ballots can vary by state. LIHEAP is accepting application until April 23, 2027

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (PA DHS) today announced the opening of 2026-27 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) season, with applications being accepted now through April 23, 2027.

“Pennsylvanians need to be able to heat their homes and keep themselves and their families warm through the winter, and LIHEAP helps hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians each year stay safe and healthy during the coldest months of the year,” said PA DHS Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh. “Anyone who may need help with heating costs and keeping their home safe through this winter should apply for LIHEAP as soon as possible.”

“LIHEAP is one of the strongest tools we have to help Pennsylvania families stay warm and manage their energy bills,” said Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman Steve DeFrank. “We encourage anyone who may be struggling to apply early and also reach out to their utilities. When families use LIHEAP together with the many options available through utility assistance programs, they have a clearer path to staying safe and connected.”
