1. What is Luke 5 Adventures?
Luke 5 Adventures is an outdoor adventure ministry dedicated to making the outdoors accessible to individuals impacted by disabilities. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the beauty, joy, and adventure of God's creation.
We hike with those who can't hike themselves.
2. Who can participate?
Our adventures are designed for individuals of all ages who are impacted by disabilities or age. We welcome children, adults, and families who want to experience the outdoors together.
3. Do participants need to be able to walk?
Absolutely not! Walking is not a requirement. We use specialized adaptive hiking equipment to help individuals who cannot independently navigate traditional hiking trails experience the outdoors.
4. Does it cost anything to participate?
Nope ! Everything we do is from donations. (Unless, you are looking to do a Hike of a Lifetime. )
5. Where do you hike?
We explore trails, parks, and outdoor destinations throughout Central Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Each location is considered based on accessibility, terrain, and the equipment needed. There are other chapters located across the US.
6. Do I need to bring my own adaptive equipment?
No! Luke 5 Adventures provides access to specialized hiking equipment for participants who need it. Equipment availability may vary by event.
7. Can parents, siblings, and family members come?
Absolutely! We believe adventures are better together. We encourage families to participate, make memories, and experience the outdoors alongside their loved ones.
8. Do volunteers help push the specialized hiking chairs?
Yes! Our volunteers are an essential part of every adventure. They help operate the adaptive equipment and work together to make outdoor experiences possible.
9. How physically demanding are the hikes?
That depends on the location and terrain. Some adventures are relatively easy, while others involve hills, rocks, and more challenging terrain. We communicate the details of each hike ahead of time.

11. Can I volunteer?
YES! We are always excited to connect with people who have a heart for serving others. Whether you enjoy hiking, helping families, organizing events, or supporting behind the scenes, there is a place for you. Just send us an email !
12. Can our church, school, or organization partner with Luke 5 Adventures?
Absolutely! We love connecting with churches, homeschool groups, schools, businesses, and community organizations that share our desire to make outdoor experiences accessible to everyone.
13. What if my loved one has significant physical or medical needs?
We want every participant to have a safe and meaningful experience. Please contact us before an event so we can discuss individual needs, equipment requirements, and appropriate accommodations.
14. What happens if it rains?
Weather decisions are made based on safety and trail conditions. Registered participants will receive updates if an adventure needs to be postponed or canceled.
15.What if my child / friend / family has never been hiking before?
We will make sure they feel comfortable and safe. If things don’t go as planned , we are there to serve each family.

Luke 5:17-26 tells the story of friends who carried a paralyzed man to Jesus when he couldn't get there himself.
That's the heart of what we do.
Sometimes people need someone to carry them, sometimes they need someone to clear a path, and sometimes they just need someone willing to go the extra mile.
We believe no one should miss out on the adventure simply because they can't get there on their own.
