What if we’re looking at school readiness the wrong way? 🧠
We often focus on whether children can count, recognise letters or write their names. But what about the developmental foundations that make learning possible?
Can their bodies support them through a day of learning? Can they concentrate, coordinate their movements, regulate their emotions and confidently explore the world around them?
The 2024 Thrive by Five Index reminds us just how important the early years are, with only 42% of four-year-olds attending Early Learning Programmes developmentally On Track for early learning.
These findings highlight why investing in early childhood development matters.
At Jolly Tots, we believe that movement and play are not simply activities to keep children busy. They are meaningful opportunities to develop the physical, cognitive and social-emotional skills that support learning.
Because before we expect little minds to learn, we need to give little bodies the opportunity to move. 🤸🏼♂️
