RF, HIFU or threads—which is right for your skin? 🤔

If you’ve been searching for skin tightening in Adelaide, treatments for sagging skin or ways to improve jawline definition, you’ve probably come across all three.

In this reel, Dr Wong explains the differences between radiofrequency (RF), high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and thread lifting—and why skin laxity, tissue position and your expectations matter when choosing a treatment.

Wondering where XERF fits into the picture? Watch as Dr Wong discusses radiofrequency and why a personalised assessment comes first.

Why I say no to XERF skin tightening more often than you’d expect 👇

⚠️ Many people assume that if they want a treatment, they can have it. With XERF in Adelaide, suitability comes first, and sometimes the honest answer is “not yet” or “not for you.”

➰ If you have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device, XERF isn’t an option for you.

➰ If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, XERF is a wait, not a never.

âž° If you have an infection or inflamed skin around the treatment area, we treat that first and look at XERF once your skin has settled.

đź’Ż This is why every XERF consultation includes:
• A medical history review
• A check for implanted devices
• An assessment of your skin in the treatment area

🔑 The key point: the right treatment is one that’s safe for you, and sometimes that means waiting or choosing a different path.

If you’re wondering whether XERF suits you, Dr Kee Sing Wong will go through your history and options with you.

Thinking about a thread lift for early jowls or a softer jawline? Our end of year offer on PDO thread lifts is now on at W Medical Aesthetics, Unley.

⚠️ A common misconception is that a thread lift is a “facelift without surgery.” It’s a different treatment with different goals, and it isn’t right for everyone.

âž° A PDO thread lift uses dissolvable threads placed under the skin to gently reposition mild to moderate laxity along the jawline and lower face.

➰ As the threads dissolve, they can support your skin’s own collagen response over the following months.

➰ It’s a non-surgical, in-clinic procedure. Suitability depends on your skin quality, the amount of laxity and your goals, so we assess this first.

đź’Ż For the right patient, a thread lift may be useful for:
• Early jowling
• Loss of jawline definition
• Mild lower-face laxity

🔑 The key point: thread lifts work best for the right candidate with realistic expectations, and that’s what your consultation is for.

Dr Kee Sing Wong will assess your face, explain whether a thread lift suits you, and talk you through the alternatives if it doesn’t.

XERF skin tightening in Adelaide — our end-of-year offer is now on for half face and full face treatments.

⚠️ Loose skin along the jawline and jowls is often treated as a volume problem. Often it’s laxity — skin that has lost some of its firmness over time.

âž° XERF is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment for skin laxity. It delivers controlled heat into the skin to stimulate collagen and support firmer-looking skin.

âž° It uses two radiofrequency frequencies to reach different depths of the skin in the one treatment.

âž° Treatments are measured in pulses. A half face plan (300 pulses) focuses on one area such as the lower face. A full face plan (600 pulses) covers the face more broadly.

đź’Ż For the right patient, XERF may be useful for:
• Early jowling and a softer jawline
• Mild skin laxity on the lower face and neck
• Crepey or less firm-looking skin
• People wanting a tightening option without surgery

Your consultation assesses your skin laxity and whether XERF suits you before any treatment is booked. Treatments are performed by our senior therapists.

Skin tightening without the numbing cream? Here’s why XERF is different. 🔥

⚠️ Most skin tightening treatments start with numbing cream and 30 minutes of waiting. XERF usually doesn’t, and that tells you something about how the energy is delivered.

âž° Why older radiofrequency can hurt: the energy goes in fast and hot, and the skin surface takes the heat.

âž° XERF shapes the pulse. Instead of one blunt burst, it uses variable pulses to deliver radiofrequency energy in a more controlled way.

➰ It cools the skin while it works. The heat is directed deeper, where it’s needed for tightening, while the surface stays more comfortable.

đź’Ż For the right patient, XERF may be useful for:
• Mild to moderate skin laxity on the face
• Loose skin along the jawline and jowls
• Upper neck laxity
• Fine lines and wrinkles

🔑 The key point: how comfortable a treatment feels depends on how the energy is delivered. Most people describe XERF as warm, and many go straight back to their day.

Curious whether non-invasive skin tightening suits your skin? Dr Kee Sing Wong will assess you and build a treatment plan around your goals.

XERF skin tightening starts with the face, not the machine.

⚠️ Sagging along the lower face can look the same from the outside but have different causes. Is it skin laxity? Early jowling? Volume loss? Changes in the deep fat compartments? Structural ageing?

➰ The concerns look similar, but they may need different treatment approaches. That’s why every XERF consultation starts with an assessment, not a treatment.

âž° We look at skin quality and thickness, the degree of laxity, facial proportions, areas of volume loss, and which layers of the face are contributing to the concern.

âž° XERF is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment. It delivers controlled energy at different tissue depths to support collagen remodelling and skin firmness.

đź’Ż For the right patient, XERF may be useful for:
• Early jowling or early jowls
• Mild to moderate skin laxity
• Softening of the jawline
• Laxity around the lower face and neck

🔑 The key point: the right treatment depends on what’s causing the change, not on which device is most popular.

If you’re noticing sagging skin, jowls, loss of firmness or a less defined jawline, a consultation with Dr Kee Sing Wong is the best place to start.

📩 DM “XERF” for consultation availability and to find out whether XERF suits your concern.
