With the footy season wrapped up, many players think they can just put their feet up and forget about lower limb care until next March. But if you’ve spent the last six months dealing with explosive sprints, hard ground impacts, and rapid pivots, your body needs a proper off-season transition.
Here is what we regularly tell our footy patients at this time of year:
The Post-Season Drop: Going straight from football boots to zero-support slides or being completely barefoot can shock your arches and trigger plantar fasciitis.
Calf & Achilles Overload: Months of running cause soft tissue tightening. Sudden inactivity can make stiffness worse. Keep up light mobility and rolling!
Fix It Now, Not March: Use the off-season to clear up those minor ankle sprains, heel aches, or shin splints before pre-season training creeps up.
