It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I have a message of gratitufe to share on this weekend of Thanksgivimg !
I felt compelled to talk about something that I don’t hear much about yet I see the impact that this has on the quality of life of so many women !
We are fortunate to have a system that can provide life saving cancer care and surgery to those who are diagnosed however what happens after the surgery and treatments like radiation and chemo?
Women are discharged from hospital with next to no education on post surgical care or what they can do to help improve amd speed up their healing both physically amd mentally.
Unless you have an infection, doctors and surgeons typically don’t have any suggestions on how to help women who are
✅ having pain and numbness at the surgical site or other compensatory structure
✅ have reduced range of motion that is negatively impacting their activities of daily living
✅ or how about the emotional pain, trauma and anxiety and fear that comes with a diagnosis?
Woman are left to try and manage this on their own and it is heartbreaking ❤️🩹
That being said, there are some physcians who do take that extra step to refer their patients to practcitoners like me who DO have evodence informed, Health Canada approced tools and treatments that can not only address and improve these issues but who are also positioned beautfuliy to listen, educate and empower these women to take back some control and get into action to help themselves heal.
I have permission from this amazingly strong and courageous woman that I have the honour of treating to share her story and pictures in hopes of helping another woman walking through her own journey.
I will post some pics in the comments to show you the before and after treatment photos.
WARNING! The images are graphic but the story needs to be told to help others!
This work isnt just for breast cancer but yet any post surgerical care! Taking care of the mind
It’s CONTEST time!

Check out this cutie patootie who I had the pleasure of treating this morning! In fact he was my first patient after my vacation! How lucky am I!
Adorable Baby Blake is a little massage hero who absolutely loves his treatments!
Baby massage at Wallis for Wellness always includes a #sp1ke mat!
Blake’s beautiful Mommy, originally brought this precious little guy to me for massage to treat his digestion & to encourage good health but soon after I noticed that he had the beginning stages of plagiocephaly aka “flathead!”
We jumped into action and educated Mama all about plagiocephaly & what she could do to help support her little guy and help to prevent this condition from worsening!
The #sp1ke mat was one of the first things we spoke about and encouraged her to add it to her parenting toolbox along with exercises, home massage techniques and other evidence informed tips to prevent this condition from worsening!
Now she uses the Sp1ke mat to help improve proprioception and neurological development!
I LOVE MY CAREER!
