Long-term care homes have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. A new project, led by University of Regina's Natasha Gallant and working with Eden Care Communities is getting underway this spring. It has researchers teaming up with long-term care staff and residents’ families to test strategies for reintegrating care partners during pandemic.

Patient Safety Right Now

The Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) has created a new strategy called PATIENT SAFETY RIGHT NOW. You can hear the urgency in our call to action to focus on demonstrating what works and strengthening commitment to patient safety in Canada…right now!

Your support is needed for the successful implementation of measurable, sustainable patient safety improvement. Initiatives need to be evaluated to determine what works. Patients need to be involved in their own care. The evidence of what works then needs to be translated in to sustainable, committed standard practices for practitioners and providers at all levels of our health care system, across the country.

We are so excited to see how our role will evolve over the coming years as we prevent patient safety incidents from occurring. Together we can make the global culture of safe care a reality.

The time for patient safety is RIGHT NOW!

My live interview with Global BC1 about our human rights complaint. The preventable patient harm will remain the third leading cause of death in Canada as long as 1. The patients do not have timely access to physicians 2. The workload of physicians is high 3. The system of admission of physicians/residents is not much merit based and there is a double standard in this process ... and there is no real intention to improve them. This is a horrific story of patient abuse by a woman in Canada.
Can you explain how the Canadian Patient Safety Institute intends to Help? There are lots of stories out there that explain where some troubling issues are with the Canadian Medical System yet they are not addressed. What is the goal and how do you expect to achieve it? Are you wanting patients to specifically point out the problems and what to be done? I am just trying to understand because there is already laws policies and procedures in place that are supposed to protect patients and from stats those alone are not working. I have heard lots of people say they complained to the Ombundsom (don't think I am spelling that right) of specific hospitals or head ombundsom and basically get dismissed or treat the patient like its their fault that they were neglected or abused.
What so you do if you can not help your wife
