Project Speed episode 6: The real reasons why I'm switching gears after 13 years of running half and full marathons and created Project Speed
The first is that this year of races has been a tough one for me. Despite running consistently all year, I just wasn't able to run my best on race day which gave me a sense I needed to shake things up a little.
I've also had some run coaching clients of mine want to develop their speed between race training cycles and WOW did they crush it, so I was curious how I might do following a similar training cycle I had created for them.
Eventually (once my kiddos are just a bit bigger) I will absolutely return to marathon running, and when I do, I want it to be on a foundation of better strength and speed.
So for now, I'm switching it up with my running, doing more strength training than I have in years, and even making it to a weekly bootcamp class with my girls.
How will my 5K time improve? Only time will tell! Be sure to follow along and watch my progress!
