A spooktacular staff meeting in ! 💀

Our Harrogate team kicked off the Halloween celebrations with the first of two spooky staff meetings! 🎃

Our hourly care professionals came together to work through some important medication scenarios, sparking great group discussions and opportunities to share knowledge and experiences. 💙

Of course, we couldn't let Halloween pass without a little fun! We rounded off the meeting with a Halloween quiz and a lovely catch-up with our fantastic team. 👻🙌

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Live-in Care Professional, Dawn! 🎉

Dawn, who has been part of our live-in care team for two and a half years, has successfully completed her Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, achieving a Merit in her apprenticeship! 👏

Dawn has worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone, showing fantastic determination, dedication and commitment throughout her studies.

Her achievement is a real inspiration to us all, and we couldn't be prouder of everything she has accomplished. 💙

It was lovely to see some of our live-in care professionals back at our West Bridgford branch recently, completing their refresher training with our Regional Trainer, Sarah!

At Carefound Home Care, we’re committed to ongoing training and development, ensuring our care professionals have the skills, knowledge and confidence to continue delivering outstanding care to our clients.

A big thank you to Sarah for delivering the training, and to Ama, Debra and Scott for their continued dedication. It was also lovely to have our Community Engagement Officer, Michal, joining them! 👏

Last week, we said farewell for now to our lovely Community Engagement Officer, Sarah, as she started her maternity leave ahead of welcoming her baby boy 💙

Sarah has made such a wonderful contribution to our team, helping us build strong relationships within the local community and supporting so many of our activities along the way.

She will be very much missed while she’s away, but we’re all so excited for her and can’t wait to hear the lovely news.

A lovely day out for one of our companionship clients! 💙

As part of her regular companionship visits, she enjoys getting out and about to local places for lunch. This week, she chose a trip to F. Tate & Sons - Larkhill Nurseries - Ripon Garden Centre

On the way out, she spotted a collection of vintage vehicles and really enjoyed taking a closer look at some of the classic cars. 🚗

Our companionship visits are all about helping clients continue enjoying the places, activities and moments that matter to them.

As part of World Alzheimer’s Month, we’re sharing three simple principles that can help make communication with someone living with dementia feel calmer and more reassuring. 💙

At Carefound Home Care, our approach to dementia care incorporates principles from the SPECAL method, which focuses on understanding dementia from the perspective of the person living with the condition.

The three golden rules are:

💙 Don’t ask direct questions
💙 Listen to the expert
💙 Don’t contradict

They may sound simple, but changing the way we communicate can help reduce unnecessary stress and support someone to feel more comfortable and understood.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of dementia and encourage conversations around diagnosis and support. 🧠

Dementia can affect people in different ways, but some early changes may include problems with memory, communication, familiar everyday tasks or changes in mood and behaviour.

Experiencing one of these changes does not necessarily mean someone has dementia. However, if changes are persistent or beginning to affect everyday life, speaking to a GP can be an important first step.

At Carefound Home Care, we support people living with dementia to remain safe, comfortable and independent in the familiarity of their own homes.
