SEND Alternative Provision at Apple Tree Farm Services CIC

AP can look different for each child that comes to us depending on their needs. For most, it's completing real Farm jobs and getting a sense of responsibility and achievement. It's collaborating with their trusted adult, gradually making friends at the lunch table where delicious hot food is served for the gang. It's gaining AQA Unit Award Scheme certificates when confidence has been so low previously.

We have limited availability for a secondary aged child after half term. If you are interested, please contact us for more information. [email protected] 🥰

🌳❤️ Even the Strongest Herd Needs Support ❤️🌳

The last few weeks have been particularly challenging for our little farm family.

At Apple Tree Farm, we spend our days supporting children and young people through life’s challenges. But our practitioners, therapists and educators are also real people, with families, responsibilities and challenges of their own.

Alongside seasonal illnesses, our small team has been navigating some more significant personal circumstances and absences. Our people matter, and their health and wellbeing will always be a priority. ❤️

When someone needs time away, the impact is felt across our whole team. We don’t have endless resources to fall back on, so we pull together, share the load and do our best.

This means that emails, administration and communication may take a little longer than usual. Please know we haven’t forgotten you, we’re simply doing our best with fewer hands on deck.

We teach our children that it’s okay not to be okay, that kindness matters and that everyone deserves compassion and understanding. Those values extend to our own team too.

To our parents, carers, schools and commissioners, thank you for your continued patience and kindness.

We’re still here, still passionate and still putting our hearts into what we do. ❤️

Because even those who care for others need caring for sometimes. 🥰

You may have noticed that there have been some sessions cancelled or times altered lately. This is due to ongoing, longer term staff sicknesses.

We are doing our utmost to minimise disruption to the children's sessions but wanted to make you aware in case your children have been affected, or will be affected.

Please bear with us while we navigate this tricky situation. We hope to have all of our wonderful staff back with us very soon, fit and well. 🥰

We are absolutely positive that we have seen the Ofsted Survey links being shared, but we thought we’d do our bit and guide you in its general direction.

Have your say. 👇🏽

🌿 A little update from the farm…

We wanted to be open with our families and supporters that things are a little stretched behind the scenes at the moment.

Several members of our team are currently off sick, which has left the farm operating with significantly reduced staffing. Those who are here have been working incredibly hard to keep everything running safely and to continue providing the care and consistency our children and young people need.

The truth is, we’re tired. We’re a small team, and after a very busy period, we’re feeling pretty burnt out and exhausted.

Brenda will also be away from the farm for a few days while she undergoes a medical procedure and takes some necessary time to recover.

Over the coming days, this may mean that responses to emails and messages take a little longer than usual, some plans may need to change at short notice, and we may need to prioritise essential provision and safeguarding above everything else.

Please bear with us while we look after our team and get everyone back on their feet. If we need to make any changes that directly affect your child’s provision, we will contact you individually as soon as possible.

We care enormously about what we do, but we also know that we cannot provide the calm, safe and nurturing environment our young people deserve without taking care of the people who provide it.

Thank you, as always, for your patience, kindness and understanding. 💚🌳

**TO ALL HAF FAMILIES PAST AND PRESENT**

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Devon HAF Celebration & Impact Awards. Can we ask for your support and ask that you follow the link and pop a vote if you think we deserve it? We will pop the link in the comments.

In addition to provider nominations, they will also be accepting public nominations for the Devon HAF Hero Award. 🏆

Devon HAF Hero Award and HAF Film of the Year winners will be chosen solely by the expert panel.

The Parent’s Choice Award will be decided entirely by parent and carer votes.
All other awards will be decided through a combination of expert panel scores and public votes.

If your family has received a good service from us, please vote for us. It would mean such a lot. Thank you

How lovely is our new playground sign? It took exactly four and half members of staff and four young people to agree on a placement for it. After months in the making and hours of deliberation, it is finally up!
