Helping exhausted and busy women get more energy and get more done About me

After a long fertility journey and a thyroid diagnosis I became frustrated with conventional forms of medicine and looked for a different approach that would get me feeling good again. Through personal research and then through studying to become a nutritional therapist I found that it was nutrition and lifestyle medicine that gave me the answers and the results I'd been after. And I'm passionate about making life easier and healthier for busy women. I have a thyroid health Facebook group (Get more energy | thyroid support for tired women) and I've appeared in the Guardian, the Telegraph and Stylist magazine. I can mostly be found at weekends snuggling on the sofa with my 7 and 4 year olds. Qualifications

I studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London for my diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition. I am a member of BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and of the ANP (Association of Naturopathic Practitioners) and am registered as a nutritional therapist with the UK regulator of complementary health practitioners, CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).

Does your energy feature in planning your week?

Or do you sometimes wish it had?

Maybe you consistently plan too much and find yourself pushing through?

Better planning might help.

But you deserve more than that.

You deserve to have that energy.

To be able to achieve what you want to and enjoy yourself while you do

That’s why I want my hypothyroid clients to understand what’s happening inside:

Why thyroid hormone isn’t getting where it needs to.

Why you’re lacking the stamina to fuel your busy schedule.

Once you have that information.

You can make it right.

Nourish your body and provide it with what’s missing.

That’s when the magic happens; you might feel a glow, get a buzzy feeling

You want to move because it feels good, not because you think you should

You get up in the morning feeling like the day is yours

And you’re no longer worried about how you’ll fair in the next 10 years

Plenty of people will teach you to manage tiredness.
I’d rather help you find out where it’s coming from.

When should we resign ourselves to getting old?

When should we just expect to decline?

I generally work with women over 50 and I don’t see ANY reason at all to accept being 50, 60 or even 70 as reason to feel tired alone (also my Mum - 80 in February - will probably object that I don’t include 80 here too 😆).

You may be tired.

But you’re hypothyroid. So what’s the REAL REASON?

This is what I love finding out.

We look at all the factors that impact energy and thyroid hormone getting to the cells.

And we work on supporting them.

So your body can feel like it’s in flow again, and you can feel like you have all the more to give.

You might even feel young again 😜

If you want to know more about why your thyroid treatment isn’t fixing your low energy and what you can do about it, watch my free webinar

You booked this dream holiday months ago
Planned excursions
Looked up amazing places to eat

But holidays are tinged now with a slight fear that you won’t make the most of it

You want to explore and have adventures

But will the energy be there or will you be looking for places to sit down, skipping the visit to the market, turning back early from the walk or going to bed early because you’re wiped out?

The thought might have crossed your mind that holidays aren’t really worth it anymore

The good news is that you’re not stuck with this fatigue for life.

In the women that I work with, we can really make headway when we get down to the root of why you’re feeling tired, why your thyroid hormone isn’t doing its job and why your body isn’t working as it should.

Imagine being able to get stuck into your hols again, being able to take part, being able to be up front instead of lagging behind.

And coming home glowing and feeling fulfilled.

If you’re a woman age 50+ who’s high achieving in spite of your thyroid condition and wants to get to the bottom of your symptoms rather than relying on guesswork and hope, watch my free webinar.

It will explain what your next steps are, what most approaches are missing and how I help women get back to feeling themselves and enjoying every second on their holidays again.

If you’re still using the traditional ways of losing weight to shift your thyroid weight, you need to understand something.

Cutting back here and there used to work

But eating LESS is just going to give you less fuel and less energy

You’re going to feel those slumps. You’re going to feel depleted.

This is why I tell my clients we need to replenish before we try and remove.

Nourish the body before we expect it to give anything up.

It might sound backwards but it works.

Because once the body has what it’s been missing all this time, it’s happy to release excess weight.

Comment ‘FUEL’ and I’ll send you my free training where I explain how I help women with hypothyroid fatigue and weight get back to feeling themselves again.

We all get tired, and I’m not immune to low energy.

Last week after pushing myself for a couple of days, one day I felt the need to work from the sofa.

I kept my drive but I admit I lost a bit of motivation.

I wanted to hide myself away for a bit.

I wanted to have coffee, chocolate, an ‘energy’ drink. A friend said the gym always perked her up.

These are the common go-tos.

We have jobs, families, people to consider and care for, things that must get done.

So we reach for stuff we know is likely to give us a boost.

This stuff may help in the short term.

It’s less likely to support us beyond that.

In fact, likely the opposite.

Both coffee and sugar give but then they take.

Working out on an already-depleted body could slow the metabolism further as the body tries to protect itself and keep its reserves.

So the way we need to manage hypothyroid energy is far from this.

We nourish the body.

We support the pathways and processes that happen in healthy thyroid metabolism.

Focusing on nourishment.

Finding a way to get more nutrients in quickly.

Regulating my nervous system to optimise digestion and also to enable conversion of inactive hormone into active hormone.

By mid afternoon I felt fine again.

Back to normal and ready for the evening rush of kid and household demands.

This is what I want more women with hypothyroidism to see.

It’s the approach that needs to change.

Once you understand how your body is working. How thyroid hormone needs to get where it’s going, you’ll know what you need to do to help your own body.

You’ll have the answers every time.

And you’ll be able to get back to your evening rush, or back to the things you love.

I sometimes get tired.
But it never lasts.
I know how to sort it out FAST.

Comment ENERGY and I’ll send you my free webinar which explains the missing thyroid puzzle pieces, if you’re struggling with fatigue.

Controversial statement: Your tiredness is not your thyroid’s fault

Yes that might not sound right 🫤

But the way we solve these perpetual symptoms is by going beneath the surface

So many women I speak to haven’t been told to do that

Their ‘resolution’ has been firmly on the surface

Taking thyroid meds to replace the hormone that the thyroid doesn’t *seem* to be making

In the case of most of the ladies I work with the thyroid is getting the blame for not working, but:

a) it could be making less hormone because it’s been told to because of something else going on in the body

b) the thyroid is inflamed due to autoimmunity so it can’t work effectively

or c) the thyroid is working just fine but the body processes that get thyroid hormone to its destination (the cells) is not.

The ladies who get back their energy and get to turn their lives back on are the ones who are willing to go beneath the surface

To see how things are happening and to make the right adjustments to help them happen properly

If you’re one of these ladies, I invite you to watch my free webinar where I show you the real reason for low energy in hypothyroidism

Is it time for you yet?

So many ladies I speak to have spent their lives working really hard to make sure others are ok.

When they come to me it’s often because they’ve been given a breather - kids need them less, less caring duties, job is more manageable…

But let’s face it, it’s NEVER going to be the perfect time because life is unpredictable.

Being ready is the most important part of embarking on a programme to turnaround your health.

Ready to change, ready to invest, ready to make time.

Fasting with hypothyroidism doesn’t make you lose weight

The usual stuff doesn’t work with hypothyroidism (you may have worked this out already 🥹)

It needs a different approach

Been told to accept things as they are?

You. don’t. have. to.

I’ve helped hundreds of hypothyroid women get their energy back by making simple tweaks to their lifestyle.

It’s all about supporting the making of thyroid hormone, and its journey to the cells.

Whether or not there is an autoimmune response (Hashimoto’s).

You can get your energy back, reduce your symptoms and start living again.
