How I keep my glow when my tan fades 🪽✨
I love to be sun-kissed, but as the weather gets colder, I’m less inclined to keep up with self-tan. It can build up over time and leave my skin looking a little flat & dull. So, instead, I switch up my skincare and makeup to bring warmth and freshness back to my complexion. These are the six things I’m reaching for>>
01. A moisturiser that adds radiance.
I’m loving the ClarinsUK Extra-Firming Energy Day Cream (see its nearly finished 👀). I particularly like its pretty peachy-rose tone, which gives my skin a fresh look and works beautifully under makeup.
02. Tinted moisturiser rather than foundation.
When I’m looking a little paler, I prefer a lighter base that lets my skin look like skin MERIT and Origins UK are two I’m reaching for at the moment. I love a natural, hydrated finish rather than anything too heavy or matte.
03. A brightening toner.
I’ve been enjoying the Bright Now PHA & Rosehip Exfoliating Toner from Pai Skincare . It’s an extra step to my routine but my skin is definitely looking smoother and brighter.
04. Warmer colours on cheeks and lips.
As my tan fades, I gravitate towards peachy and soft apricot shades. They bring flattering colour back to my face and work beautifully with a dewy base.
05. Keep bronzer and contour subtle.
I still like a little definition, but with a lighter hand. A soft wash of bronzer and a little contour, blended well, adds warmth without looking too sculpted. This dual-ended one from Official Stila UK is a kiss of confidence.
06. Soften the eyes.
I often switch black mascara for brown, paired with a smudgy brown eyeliner. I love this one from Clinique UK . Add softly defined brows and it’s an easy way to pull the look together without feeling too made up.
For me, it’s about making a few small changes rather than trying to hold on to summer. Good skincare, a fresh base, warmer colours and softer makeup can make all the difference.
Do you feel your best with a tan, too, or do you embrace your natural skin tone as we head into autumn and winter? Let me know in the comments 🫶🏼
