Commercialisation of Spirituality and Superficial Wellbeing!
You may find this Controversial ✨✨
Have you heard of…. “McMindfulness” or “spiritual bypassing,” that frequently prioritizes outward appearances over internal effort in the Spiritual & Wellbeing Movement???
“It is much easier to preach organic living and spiritual alignment from a podium than it is to actually sit in silence and do the heavy, messy work of internal healing.” — Anatomy of a Fad
Social Media is saturated with posts about Healers of all sorts…..everyone seems to be jumping on the Bandwagon of ‘Wellbeing’.
Not that I think that ‘looking after your wellbeing’ is a bad thing because as most of you will know, I am a Yoga Teacher and into Alternative Wellness practices myself, but the popularity or the trending subject ‘of the day’ often gets contorted and played with….transforming Deep and Ancient Practices into marketable consumption and money making commodities that are being sold by people that have done a quick course without even thinking…or dealing with their own healing journey!
I have witnessed this shift of Trends and Fads over the years of being a Yoga Teacher and Wellness Practitioner from that of what is meant to be an uncomfortable personal transformation to that of aesthetic “wellness” lifestyle.
It is disappointing to see so many Sacred Therapeutic practices being made into what seems like a Lifestyle Accessory.
When the market gets saturated it fundamentally shifts how some Creators operate and how users consume the content. The use of marketing ‘buzzwords’ leads to a dilution of trust, authenticity, and actual value.
When a business is built around a trend, you aren’t building a foundation; you are hosting a pit stop….and you will attract people drawn to that trend, to the novelty of that trend before moving onto the next big trend!
When this trend is over and the wellbeing bubble bursts.....and that will happen because something new will come along, the true practitioners will face a massive rehabilitation job to restore the industry's credibility.
Healing yourself...before others....is a long journey of commitment and is not a Training Course where you help others to heal through the gaining a Certificate!
At present, the heavily diluted trend of people claiming to "Heal" others has turned into a fast-fashion commodity.
I wonder how many Alternative Health & Wellbeing practitioners there are Preaching about this subject...but not doing it?
Truthfully.....probably way more than you think!
