For anyone who might be feeling like they have a lot of weight on them right now...look for the little 'glimmers'.

Sometimes even these seemingly small and insignificant moments can remind us that it's okay to take a moment to stop, to take a breath, and to remind ourselves that there is still beauty all around us. 💛

Someone asked me today if I knew of anything they could share with their partner to help them understand why libido can change during perimenopause. It got me thinking about how important these conversations are, so when I came across this short podcast, I thought I'd share it here too.

It's a topic we don't always talk about openly, but changes in s*xual desire can have a real impact on relationships.

And while fluctuating hormones can play a significant role, they're not the whole picture. Poor sleep, stress, fatigue, body confidence and the emotional changes that can come with perimenopause can all affect s*xual desire.

Hormonal changes can also lead to vaginal dryness and discomfort, making intimacy less enjoyable or even painful.

Sometimes, simply understanding why things might be changing can help take away some of the pressure and open up conversations between partners.

And remember, a change in libido doesn't necessarily mean a change in love or attraction. ❤️

🎧 Have a listen, or perhaps share it with your partner.

This FAQ summarises how do you talk to your partner about menopausal libido changes, with factual context around the question, suitability considerations and the role of individual clinical assessment where relevant.

Fascinating research is happening in California, looking at the impact that testosterone treatment has on bone health post-menopause. More research is needed, but it's worth a read. Thanks to Dee Murray for sharing this article this morning.

Testosterone has historically been considered a 'male' s*x hormone, but that outdated notion may be preventing better treatments for post menopausal women.

So glad to see these videos being shared, highlighting the real lived experiences of women navigating surgical menopause.

There is still far too little understanding of surgical menopause across different clinical settings, and significant gaps in the information, preparation and support women receive, both before and after surgery.

For many women, menopause isn't a gradual transition. It's sudden, following the removal of their ovaries, and can bring with it a whole host of symptoms that have a profound impact on their physical and emotional wellbeing, relationships and everyday lives.

Yet too many women are being left to navigate this without adequate information, individualised support or joined-up care between the different healthcare professionals involved.

Preparing women for surgery is only part of the picture. What happens afterwards matters just as much.

Thank you to Menopause Support, Tasha and everyone involved in bringing these lived experiences into the spotlight. We need to keep having these conversations and pushing for better awareness, education and care.

Well, that's it... I've finally given in and bought myself a reading glasses chain! 🤓😂

I'm fed up with spending half my life searching the house for my glasses, or balancing them precariously on top of my head, only for them to fall off at the most inconvenient moment!

They've ended up in whatever I'm cooking on more than one occasion, and there was even the time they fell straight into the dog's water bowl! 🐶💦🤣

Honestly, it's a miracle they've survived this long!

I think I've officially reached the stage of life where practicality wins!

Although, I did manage to find a silver chain that looks a bit like a necklace, so I'm telling myself it's a fashion accessory rather than a sign of getting older! 😂

Anyone else joined the glasses chain club, or are you still playing the daily game of "Where on earth did I put my glasses?" 👓

And please tell me I'm not the only one whose glasses have ended up in some rather unusual places! 🤣
