WOW, Ngāti Awa Te Toki, what a weekend! 🎉
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall and signed up for our smokefree service. We are honoured to support you as you take steps towards a smokefree future.

A massive mihi to Hapai Te Hauora - Maori Public Health for sponsoring the event and providing awesome prizes.

✅ Every person who signed up generated $100 for the rōopū they were supporting.
✅ They were entered into the draw to win $150 on the final day of Te Toki.
✅ Plus, they received access to our regular client incentives.

We had an incredible time enjoying the kapa haka performances, connecting with whānau and experiencing the outstanding manaakitanga shown throughout the weekend.

Congratulations Ngāti Awa on another fantastic Te Toki festival. Here are some highlights from our weekend! 📸

" I've been smoking for 18 years, I made a decision that I wanted a better and healthier life, not just for me and my husband but for my kids.
I know how hard it can be to take that step, but once you have and you take it day by day, things slowly get better and easier.
I am proud to be smokefree."

Four weeks smoke-free together!
This couple has taken on their quit journey as a team, supporting each other while caring for their new baby.
Their commitment to a healthier future for themselves and their whānau is a wonderful achievement.
To mark the four-week milestone, mum and dad received a well-deserved incentive. 💛🩷💚💙

Amazing mahi guys!!!

👩‍🦳 "Is it a thing to feel grief when thinking about giving up smoking? "

Absolutely! 💯 its a thing..

For some, smoking has been that best friend that would sit with us in the darkest of times.
The friend🤖 that will not ask many questions and never judge.
It is very common to feel grief and sadness when giving up ciggies.
For some it is like losing apart of their identity.

Just like any loss, there is a grief process.
Forming new relationships with things and people that serve us and provide strength, growth and resilience. Its never too late to make positive changes.

Our Carbon Monoxide readers are not there for us as coaches. They are there for you.😎
To show you that you can do it. You can gain resilience, change for the better and gain control.
That the mahi that you do, does pay off.

Oxygen is given freely by our Te Taiao. This is a relationship that will keep giving.

After a time in the RED (high reading of CO level) Our Kui did her 1st reading in the GREEN!!! (Low CO level)

Definitely deserves love whānau!!!

For mother and daughter, Chanelle and Bernadette, quitting smoking was about more than breaking a habit. It was about creating a healthier future for themselves and their whānau, with support from Hāpainga Stop Smoking Service.

Witnessing the devastating effects smoking had on her loved ones was a turning point. She realised she did not want the same future for herself, and especially not for her baby.

Watch their inspiring story to learn what motivated them to quit, the challenges they overcame, and the rewards they've enjoyed since becoming smokefree.

If Chanelle and Bernadette can do it, you can too. Take the first step towards a healthier, smokefree future today. 💙💚

Sharing some happenings in the Bay Of Plenty.

There are so many aspects to quitting smoking.
Creating new experiences, meeting new people, Wānanga in communities and keeping yourself busy in something you enjoy, can provide extra support into your hauora journey.

You did it! Congratulations🎉Over 4 weeks smokefree now and we are so proud of you. It wasn't easy, we made little adjustments along the way, but your determination and the support of your whanau made all the difference. Keep striving with your new habits and never lose sight of your goals💫
