✏️ College services are offered under Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) but don't automatically transfer from high school IEPs or 504 plans. Communication with administration is key!

It's a leap year!
Why do we have a leap day? 🤔 We need leap days to keep our calendar aligned with the Earth's revolutions around the Sun. It takes the Earth approximately 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 45 seconds to circle once around the Sun ☀️. Without an extra day on February 29th nearly every four years, we would lose almost SIX hours every year! After 100 years, a calendar without leap years would be off by around 24 days! 🤯

DID YOU KNOW?? 🤔
A recent study suggests our assumptions about how autism effects boys more than girls are flawed. The observations performed on mice show how male and female brains may be equally prone to autism, suggesting ASD has been significantly underestimated in women. Up until recent years, ASD has been approached and treated as a condition primarily effecting the male population, with diagnostic criteria mainly based on male presentations of autism. Historically, four boys for every one girl are diagnosed with autism, suggesting that how we approach diagnosing the condition needs to be reconsidered, as girls are more likely to camouflage their autistic traits than boys.

Reading aloud has so many benefits. 📖 When parents read aloud to their kids, it helps foster language development and social-emotional learning. When kids read aloud to their parents, it strengthens their cognition and confidence!
