Michael Eck has lived with hemophilia his entire life, but it wasn’t until he was more than 50 years old, when he attended his first NEHA event, that he connected with the bleeding disorders community and met someone outside his family who also had hemophilia.

On a recent episode of the BloodStream Media, Michael shared his story about living with a bleeding disorder. He also shared how finding NEHA changed his life and his hopes for future generations, including his grandson, who also has hemophilia. Watch the episode below to hear his story!

Last week, eight young adults from New England represented our community at the Save One Life, Inc. NEXT Leaders Congress in Phoenix, Arizona!

The more than 50 young adults from across the country spent the long weekend building leadership skills, exploring advocacy, learning to navigate the healthcare system with confidence, and discovering how they can make a difference in the bleeding disorders community. Just as importantly, they connected with peers who share their experiences and understand the importance of supporting one another.

We’re so proud to see so many young leaders from our community take part in this program and we look forward to seeing how they apply their skills and connections to shape the future of our community!
