This #MindfulMonday, we leave you with a quote to ponder. “A mind is like a parachute it doesn't work if it isn't open.”- Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa was an American singer-songwriter who lived from 1940-1993. Zappa had many controversial beliefs, and is known for his satire on both the cultural conformity and the opposing counterculture in America at the time. However, we can learn from his quotation by having an open mind about trying new things! Is there a hobby or skill that you’ve always wanted to try, but you’ve never had the guts to start? Now is the time! Don’t shut down the idea if you think it will be too difficult or your first attempt might not be good enough. If it doesn’t work on the first attempt, it is a learning experience and you get to try again!

Thank you to RBMA member Lauren Michelle Gayler-Ellis for sending in this quote.

Although coding for every specialty follows the same general process, coding for radiology requires a basic understanding of how a radiology department operates, the modalities utilized, and radiologists’ documentation expectations. This session will review common radiology terminology, templates and expectations for documentation of services provided by the radiologist, basic coding concepts, and radiology resources.

Houseplants have been going in and out of vogue ever since the early Greeks and Romans started bringing their plants in from the outdoors. Indoor plants don’t just look good – they can make us feel good, too. Studies have shown that indoor plants...

- Boost your mood, productivity, concentration and creativity

- Reduce your stress, fatigue, sore throats and colds

- Help clean indoor air by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity & producing oxygen

- Add life to a sterile space, give privacy and reduce noise levels

- Are therapeutic to care for (it’s true when we say Plants Make People Happy)

The benefits they confer should make us consider them a necessity rather than an object of décor, because honestly, good health should never be out of style!

This year’s theme of the WHO’s World Health Day is building a fairer, healthier world for everyone. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the inequities in health care as it relates to socio-economic background, race, religion, political belief, sexual orientation, and gender. RBMA has made a pledge to take an active role in the efforts to close these gaps.

The RBMA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force established this year is aimed at creating programs and platforms that increase inclusiveness and foster awareness and acumen in respect of issues of diversity within the association. The goal is to create a more diverse and inclusive radiology business community which we believe will in turn foster better radiology healthcare for all patients.

We hope you will join us on this profound and much needed journey!
