Helping your body recover postpartum shouldn't be something you have to figure out on your own--especially when so many of us were never taught how to interpret the signs our body give us.

That's why we created Postpartum The Bodywise Way!

This program will help you know your body better and set you up for a smoother postpartum recovery.

Each participant will have an individual, private evaluation with Dr. Emily Pace to assess and start hearing the messages your body is sending you. Then there will be 4 small-group sessions led by Dr. Emily to guide you through building strength and coordination with the added bonus of building community with others in the same stage of life.

Send us a message if you have questions or there's a link in our bio to sign up!

Postpartum care should be about more than a 6-week checkup.

ACOG recommends postpartum care that addresses physical recovery, mental health, sleep, s*xuality, and so much more. But how much of that can really fit into one or two appointments?

That's why I am excited to announce Postpartum the Bodywise Way with Dr. Emily Pace!

This program combines an individual PT evaluation with 4 weekly small-group sessions to help you better understand your changing body, build strength, and navigate postpartum life with more confidence.

We'll cover topics like:
✨ Core and pelvic floor function
✨ Body mechanics with your baby
✨ Bowel, bladder, and pelvic pressure concerns
✨ Returning to s*x and exercise
✨ Mental well-being and available resources

You'll build strength, learn practical strategies, and connect with other postpartum moms in a small group setting.

Our first group begins in November!

Getting to go through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with the same group of people is just indescribable.

Each one’s journey was a little different, but they still saw how much more they have in common than anything.

And it’s been so beautiful to watch them walk this road together. To hold and support each other in hard times and to laugh and joke together about the crazy things that come up in pregnancy and birth.

What a gift to host these groups and bring people together like this. We hope these friendships continue to grow and flourish for many, many years!

We get it—It can be intimidating to schedule an appointment with a pelvic floor physical therapist.

But what if you were seen in a private office and not in an open space?

What if your whole appointment time were spent one-on-one with your provider instead of having them move between you and someone else they’re seeing?

And ultimately, what if the privacy and personal attention meant that you saw results faster and needed fewer visits?

If this is the kind of pelvic floor care you’d like, this is what we live to do at Roots & Wings!

Send us a message to learn more.

Did you know that bladder leakage and pelvic organ prolapse are not the same problem?

Bladder leakage (especially with cough, laugh, and sneeze) is often the result of the bladder not being well supported by the pelvic floor during activities that may put more pressure on your bladder. When the pressure in your bladder is higher than the pressure in your urethra (the tube you p*e out of), urine will come out. This is great when you are trying to empty your bladder on the toilet, but not when you're trying to jump on the trampoline with your kids.

Pelvic organ prolapse is the result of the ligaments that support your organs not being as supportive causing the organs to sit lower in your pelvis. This often feels like a heaviness or pressure in your pelvis and is not a comfortable feeling. Having a stronger pelvic floor & core can help better support this change in your anatomy, but pelvic floor weakness is not usually the primary cause of this problem.

Are you leaking, feeling pelvic pressure, or both? You don't have to guess what's going on or just learn to live with it. A pelvic floor PT can help you understand your symptoms and create a plan that fits your body!

Birth is truly a family event!

Some of my most precious birth moments have been involving siblings in welcoming the new family member by having them cut the cord or showing the the placenta and baby’s first home.

What magical moments these are!
