🎃 Community fun in Gladwin!

Joe and our Gladwin CLS Coordinator, Amanda, represented Arnold Center at Michigan Works! Region 7B’s Trunk or Treat on Monday evening! They decorated a vehicle and handed out candy alongside other local organizations. 🍬👻

Thank you to Michigan Works! for bringing the community together and to Joe and Amanda for helping spread some Halloween cheer! 🧡

🦎 CLS Group Services had a special visitor today!

Our Activity & Enrichment Coordinator brought in her bearded dragon, Frankie, for a fun and interactive educational experience!

They learned all about bearded dragons, watched a live feeding, asked questions, and even had the opportunity to meet and pet Frankie!

It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, excitement, and engagement throughout the presentation! We love creating unique, hands-on learning opportunities that encourage our participants to explore new interests and experiences! ❤️

A big thank you to Fruitland Market in Auburn for generously donating mini pumpkins to our Kaleidoscope Creative Arts program! 🎃

Our participants had a blast turning them into creations inspired by Frankenstein, Beetlejuice, Pikachu, and more. Even our staff joined in! Natalie, an occupational therapy student from SVSU completing her fieldwork with us, helped lead the activity and encouraged everyone’s creativity.

Thank you, Fruitland Market and Natalie, for helping make it such a fun day! 🧡

🏛️ **An Awesome Day of Advocacy, Inclusion & Community!** 💙

Staff and individuals from **both the Arnold Center Gladwin and Midland locations** had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a day at the Michigan State Capitol!

Experiences like this give the individuals we serve an opportunity to learn more about advocacy, share their voices and experiences, and better understand how decisions made at the state level can impact services and supports within their communities. It was also a great opportunity to learn more about the legislative process and the importance of being involved and informed.

🌟 **A very special shout-out and thank you to Representative Brad Slagh** for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with our group. Representative Slagh gave everyone a tour of the **House of Representatives chamber** and took the time to explain how the voting process works. The Michigan House currently lists Representative Bradley Slagh as serving District 85. ([Michigan House of Representatives][1])

For the individuals we serve, opportunities like this are about so much more than a field trip. They are about **community inclusion, education, self-advocacy, making connections, and having the opportunity to be seen and heard.** ❤️

We truly appreciate when members of our community take a little extra time to engage with our individuals, answer their questions, and make them feel welcomed and included. That time and kindness can make an experience even more meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable day for our Arnold Center group! 🙌🏛️
