Sea Level Counseling and Wellness We provide Mental and Medical Wellness services to individuals in the Hampton Roads area.

Our collective of master's prepared and licensed clinicians provide quality mental health care. As a mental health collective, we assist the community by providing Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapy, Neurofeedback, Clinical Supervision, and more. It’s essential for us that our clients have a deeper understanding of who is on our team and who could be best suited to their needs. Once we know your preferences, we can work together to ensure you’re matched with the right team member. Our mission is to restore balance and empower change by healing the widespread impacts of trauma on both the mind and body through effective treatment, education, and partnership and by giving individuals the ability to choose how they heal.

The holidays can come with a lot of pressure to say yes. Yes to another invitation. Yes to another favor. Yes to another conversation you’d rather avoid.

But saying yes when you really mean no doesn’t make the season easier. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, resentful, or completely drained.

You can care about people and still have limits. You can say no. You can change your mind. And you don’t have to feel guilty for making space for your own needs, too.

The holidays can bring us closer to the people we love, but they can also bring up old patterns, difficult conversations, and expectations that can be hard to navigate.

Your boundaries still matter. You can love your family and still decide what you’re comfortable discussing. You can enjoy time together and still step away when you need a break. You can care about other people without ignoring your needs.

Mental health isn’t only about what happens in your thoughts. Our experiences can also affect how we feel and respond through our bodies.

Somatic-based therapy incorporates the body into the therapeutic process, creating space to notice physical sensations, patterns, and responses as you work through what you’re experiencing. We use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to meet you where you are and support your goals.

We’re heading into a time of year that can quickly become anything but slow: more plans, more responsibilities, more gatherings, and plenty of pressure to fit everything in.

So instead of asking how you can do more, try asking yourself what you could do differently. Maybe a slower season means fewer commitments. Maybe it means more time at home, better boundaries, or finally permitting yourself to rest.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is more than being neat, organized, or particular about how things are done.

OCD can involve intrusive thoughts, unwanted fears, and compulsive behaviors that can take up significant emotional energy. Let’s make space for greater understanding and less stigma. Mental health experiences are complex, and they deserve to be treated that way.

When life starts moving quickly, sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is pause.

Take a few minutes to step away from the noise, take a deep breath, and check in with yourself. You don’t have to solve everything in that moment. Sometimes a reset is simply giving yourself enough space to figure out what you need next.

Rest is not something you have to earn after finishing everything on your list.

Sometimes rest means going to bed early. Sometimes it means saying no to another commitment, taking a quiet afternoon, or permitting yourself to do absolutely nothing for a little while. Your body and mind need breaks, too. Make room for rest before you reach complete exhaustion.

Coming out can be a deeply personal experience, and there is no single way it has to look or feel.

For some, it can bring relief and connection. For others, it may come with uncertainty, fear, or complicated family and relationship dynamics. Wherever you are in your journey, you deserve space to process what you’re feeling without judgment!
