Join PNHP-MN & SNaHP UMN-TC as they present "Suck It Up, Buttercup", a feature-length 2026 investigative documentary film (with discussion to follow) at the Coffman Union Theatre (UMN-TC Campus) on Wednesday, November 18th at 7:00 PM.

Tickets are Pay-What-You-Wish, with 100% of proceeds to be used to cover the costs to host this event. (Donations are always appreciated!)

In Minnesota, we are proud to consistently lead the nation in voter turnout and smooth election systems. This year, we expect that to be no different.

But some people in power are working to undermine our free and democratic elections to silence our voices. As we vote in record numbers this year, we need to prepare ourselves to ensure every vote is counted because in Minnesota, we believe that voters, not those in power, decide who will represent us.

That's why we are preparing early to demonstrate our commitment to democracy and free elections. Join us on Saturday, November 7th to celebrate our democracy, and if needed, stand up to demand those in power count every vote.

No, really. Obamacare focused on expanding coverage through private insurance markets. Medicare for All proposes a single payer system that could potentially eliminate private insurance, significantly reducing overall cost. Both seek to improve healthcare access, but in extremely different ways.

PAY CUTS are coming. Benefit packages (including health insurance) are a significant part of our compensation. When benefits are reduced, that’s less money in our pockets.

We see other countries paying less than half for their care AND they have better health outcomes?! Enough is enough! It’s time for

*Health insurance companies make profits by denying your care.*
💸They accept premium payments, then don't authorize treatment.
👎You pay your deductible, then they suddenly deny your medication.
💉Need a procedure? They delay approval until you give up.

Does this business model work for them? Yes! UnitedHealthcare stiffed their beneficiaries $4,000,000,000 in care last quarter alone.

Does this model work for us, the patients and providers? No! We're broke and sick.

So how do we fix this mess? , a national health insurance program for everyone.

💀US life expectancy is 50th in the world (CIA data from 2024)
👼🏽MN infant & maternal mortality are worse than other modern, high income countries
💰US is 25 - 30% higher per person than the 2nd most expensive country in the world. (Read that again--Not "lowest!")

HCA-MN Board Member Mark Brakke writes, "(Gubernatorial candidates) Klobuchar and Demuth are proposing policy changes which will cost us more rather than reducing costs. Neither candidate is willing to acknowledge the fundamental flaw in US healthcare...unnecessary overhead costs." (Ahem! Health Insurers!)

"Furthermore, we do not have a system which can adequately plan for our healthcare needs. A clear example of this is the lack of an adequate number of primary care doctors. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

At least 23 detailed studies of healthcare reform over the last few decades have ALL shown that healthcare finance reform would SAVE MONEY and SAVE LIVES.

It is clearly time for the voters to demand that Minnesota healthcare be fixed. MN Senator John Marty has written a bill 'The Minnesota Health Plan' which would save money, improve health and eliminate the risk of personal financial ruin from illness.

It is time for the voters to demand their legislators support demonstrably effective healthcare finance reform. One might say it is fraud to assert that the excess cost of healthcare cannot be addressed effectively."
