Metabolic Balance USA All-Natural Weight Management & Personalized Nutrition Dr. Funfack committed his whole life to the notion of how to stay in good health.

In the early 1980s, when Dr. Wolf Funfack was writing his doctoral dissertation at the Free University of Berlin, the medical world was in transition. Dr. Christiaan Barnard had just become internationally recognized for performing the world’s first heart transplant. At the time, although slightly less fashionable, Dr. Funfack was working on a more-down-to-earth and practical dissertation topic: “Obesity in Infancy and Early Childhood.” Instead of posing the question, How can I treat disease or replace diseased organs? After spending 10 years in the cardiology unit at Moabit hospital in Berlin, he took his family to Isen, in the foothills of the Alps. There he established his own medical practice. Dr. Funfack began noticing that a number of his patients were gaining weight. At the same time, he noticed a worsening of patients’ blood values, a deterioration in patients’ quality of life, and increases in disease. He treated all of his patients with the most advanced treatment methods available worldwide in nutritional medicine. But those methods seemed to work only for the short term. He also began noticing that he, too, was gaining weight and that his blood values were worsening. At that time, his wife, Birgit Funfack, was training to become a naturopath. She brought Dr. Funfack new insights, such as the theory that all physical processes should be seen as individual processes that are influenced by a multitude of factors. The two began exchanging information and experimenting to see whether small changes in their own habits would have an impact on their health and well-being. In developing their new theories, they brought in another expert: Birgit's sister, Silvia Bürkle. As a food technologist, Silvia viewed foods and their effects from a different perspective, which immensely enhanced the discussions between the three. Those events marked the beginning of Metabolic Balance®. Silvia Bürkle classified all foods by their individual components. The three founders discussed and revised their evaluations and finally checked the accuracy of their methods by testing their nutritional plans on themselves. Their success was nothing short of impressive, and word got around. Soon, everyone wanted to take part in this successful nutrition program, and Metabolic Balance® became well-known in and around Isen. Within a short time, the workload become so much to handle that the founders developed a program that would enable them to create the individual nutrition plans on a larger scale. Dr. Wolf and Birgit befriended physicians and naturopaths to help them supervise their growing list of clients. With that, Metabolic Balance® was born. The Metabolic Balance® software program is based on the German national food database. Centered on the findings of numerous medical research studies, personal research, and experience, the principles of Metabolic Balance® were developed. This complex program gets continually refined and adjusted to reflect current research. Today Metabolic Balance® is widespread. It is well-known throughout Germany and has already gained worldwide interest. The basic concept of individuality has not changed since its original creation. That individuality covers the nutrition plans, the personal supervision, and the joy the participants experience when the success of Metabolic Balance® begins to work on them.

A delicious meal is great but one that leaves you feeling satisfied and not reaching for snacks an hour later is even better!

The foods you put on your plate can impact how satisfied you feel after eating. Protein, fiber-rich foods, and healthy fats all play important roles in creating a balanced and more importantly, satisfying meal.

Here are a few tips to build meals that will keep you feeling satisfied:

Include protein: Eggs, fish, poultry, tofu, or other protein sources can help with satiety

Make room for vegetables: They provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals that support overall health

Don't forget healthy fats: Foods such as olive oil, nuts, and seeds are not only beneficial for your health but can make meals feel much more satisfying

Remember, the right balance depends on your individual nutritional needs and Metabolic Balance plans are tailored to make sure your meals are personalized to you!

Let's talk about all things yogut!
Did you know that yogurt offers more than just a creamy texture and delicious taste? The type of yogurt you choose can make a difference in its nutritional value! Greek yogurt, for example, typically contains more protein than regular yogurt, making it a great way to add protein to meals and snacks. Yogurt is also rich in calcium, which supports strong bones and teeth, and many types of yogurt contain live and active cultures that can support gut health. However, flavored yogurts often contain significant amounts of added sugar, so be sure to check the label when shopping. Plain, unsweetened yogurt is a versatile option that can be paired with fresh fruit and nuts, or used as a creamy base for dressings and dips. With so many ways to enjoy it, yogurt is a delicious and nutritious addition to a balanced diet!

Have you ever woken up craving something different for breakfast? Something hearty, delicious, and packed with protein to fuel your day? We have just the recipe for you with this delicious breakfast skilllet!

Ingredients:
For the chicken sausage
1 portion of ground chicken, (or turkey works too)
3/4 tsp ground sage
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
Pinch of paprika, (optional)

1 portion of sweet potato, diced into small cubes
1/2 bell pepper, diced (choose a color that fits your plan)
1/4 onion, finely chopped
1 small zucchini, diced
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss the diced sweet potato with a little olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for 25–35 minutes, turning halfway through, until tender and lightly browned. While the sweet potatoes roast, mix all ingredients together for the chicken sausage and form patties. In a pan lightly add 1 Tbsp of oil, add the patties and cook both sides until golden brown and inside is fully cooked. Remove patties and now add the vegetables and sautée until tender. Serve the chicken sausage alongside the roasted sweet potatoes and sautéed vegetables. Enjoy!

As we move into the colder months, delicious produce such as sweet potatoes come into season. Despite their name, sweet potatoes are not closely related to regular potatoes and are known for their naturally sweet flavor and vibrant orange color. Sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A to support vision and immune function. They also provide fiber and potassium, making them a nutritious addition to any meal. Sweet potatoes can be prepared in a variety of ways, including roasted, mashed, baked, or added to soups and casseroles. They can even be used in desserts to add depth of flavor and nutrition. As we settle into the fall season, consider incorporating this root vegetable into your weekly meal rotation!

Cinnamon Apple Pancakes

This delicious and healthy pancake recipe is perfect for a weekend breakfast on a chilly morning!

Ingredients:
1 apple
1 egg
2 tbsp rye flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp coconut oil
Pinch of cinnamon and salt
Berries or other fruit for decoration
Some water (about 1/4 cup)

Directions:
Begin by cutting the apple into slices approximately 0.5 cm thick, and be sure to remove the core. Place the apple slices in a pan with a small amount of water and steam them for about 3-4 minutes. Alternatively, you can cook them in a microwave.
To make the pancake batter, mix the rye flour, egg, baking powder, vanilla, and a pinch of cinnamon and salt with one tablespoon of water. You can use a hand-held blender or a whisk for this.
Heat the coconut oil in the same pan you used to steam the apple slices. Spoon the batter over the apple slices and wait a few minutes until small bubbles form on the surface. Carefully flip the pancakes and cook until they reach your desired level of brownness.
Remove the pancakes, arrange them on a plate, and decorate them with berries or other fruits.
