An intuitive reading for the week ahead from 1 November 2026 ~ three cards pulled from "Enchanted Map" by Colette Baron-Reid:

Solitude (13) Reversed - going within, contemplating your foundations
Talisman (49) - accessing and utilising your "wisdom". Are you walking your talk?
Ghostlands (8) Reversed - the past revisting you, a reminder to let things no longer in alignment go in order to move ahead.

As far back as the late Middle Ages (13th century), records indicate that the maypole was quite established in southern Britain, as well as on the continent from the Pyrenees (bordering France and Spain) through to Scandinavia and even Russia.

Fifteenth century Londoner, pamphleteer and Puritan Phillip Stubbes described the maypole as being “covered with flowers” and “drawn by oxen whose horns are tipped with nosegays. Men, women and children follow with great devotion. They set up the maypole (typically a birch or fir tree stripped of its branches and bark) in the town square, decorate it with golden boughs, and dance around it.”

His distaste for such an event was also recorded – at the banquet and feast, the people would “dance about [the maypole] as the Heathen people did at the dedication of their idols, whereof this is a perfect pattern, or rather the thing itself”.

Such dedication to idols continues today as the seasonal wheel turns and here, south of the equator, we pivot towards summer.

Playing with cards today. Do you resonate with them?

1. Death & Rebirth (reversed)
What aren't you releasing? Why are you holding onto what no longer serves you? The fear of change or releasing sentimental attachments is adding to the loss you are feeling. In order to move forward, surrender and allow the energetics of the waning moon to help clear the way.

2. The World (reversed)
Reenforcing the need to relinquish your control, and allow yourself to surrender to the ebb and flow of the universe, to the natural cycles, instead of fighting against them. After all you know that change will be taking place regardless of whether you are ready or not.

3. Six of Swords:
Breathe. Transitions are occuring and the result of which will arise when the time is right. This is your rite of passage after all, time to move beyond the shadows fo the past. You are supported. Trust and believe that each step that you have made along your journey has been part of your own personal evolution. It is happening at your own pace - yours and yours alone. Do not be coerced to surrender the beat of your own drum for someone else's. Breathe and trust what is unfolding for you.

A Circle of Hands is a sacred space that will be created on Monday, 8 December for anyone wishing to step into, to allow themselves to feel and acknowledge the grief that they have been carrying, and then to surrender, to let it go.

This may be grief due to personal experiences that have occurred in your life ~ or it may be energetic grief that you have been picking up from the collective as we move through these times of change.

Regardless of situation and circumstances, if this Circle speaks to you, then stay tuned for more details as they become available.
