A firm believer in slowing down and connecting to ourselves to allow for a much deeper and more meaningful connection to our community. She’s kept this concept at the forefront of her business. Through practicing and embracing the elements of yoga and meditation for over 18 years, Jas had the opportunity to apply these concepts to my life and to share them with so many others. A masters in law and a degree in international business, Jas lived the hustle culture life and has made it a promise to find a more balanced way of living for herself and clients. Jas is known for her passionate, yet calm demeanour. She has a unique approach to teaching and living yoga with little bits of sass and samosas sprinkled in (just to keep it interesting). Yoga propaganda? Babe, I’m not buying it. Let’s unpack the scroll-worthy scam:

✨️Just because we can put our foot behind our head doesn’t mean we’ve met our soul.

✨️If our practice disappears without the camera on… was it ever yoga to begin with?

✨️“High-vibe only” is cute until we realize yoga was made to sit in discomfort, not dodge it.

Sage isn’t an accessory. And no, our $200 mat doesn’t make us enlightened.

Yoga isn’t a performance — it’s a practice. There’s no applause for showing up, just growth.

Real yoga unravels us. The stretchy pants are optional. The shadow work? Not so much.

If you crush a cockroach, you're a hero. If you crush a butterfly, you're a villain. The difference? Aesthetics.

This speaks to something deeper—how we assign value based on what is pleasing, palatable, and marketable. The same lens is applied to yoga in the West. The fluid sequences, the minimalist studios, the perfectly lit handstands—these have become the face of yoga. Meanwhile, the less “beautiful” parts—the discipline, the philosophy, the cultural and historical depth—are often overlooked, diluted, or left behind entirely.

Yoga was never meant to be just an aesthetic practice. It is a lifelong path of self-inquiry, a discipline that calls us to look within, to sit in discomfort, to move beyond illusion. Yet, in the West, what is seen as “valuable” is often what is visually appealing—poses over philosophy, flexibility over introspection, personal gain over collective healing.

But true yoga isn't just what looks good; it’s what transforms. It asks us to engage deeply, to move beyond surface-level representations, to question rather than consume. It invites us to honor its roots, to practice with integrity, and to remember that yoga was never just about what we can see—but about what we can feel, learn, and embody.

Every decision tells a story, but not everyone takes the time to see and understand the full picture.

We're often judged by the choices we make, yet so few take the time to understand the weight of the options we had. The quiet battles, the unseen sacrifices, the impossible crossroads—we carry them all.

Let this be a reminder to lead with compassion. To pause before assuming. To recognize that what looks like an easy decision from the outside may have been anything but.

Have you tried a yin or a restorative practice? While they may seem similar, there are some key differences between the two!

A restorative practice is extremely slow paced with the intention of healing the body from the inside out...starting with lowering cortisol levels. Every part of the body is supported. The real challenge is being still for 5-20 min 🤭

Relaxation in a yin practice is often the by-product of applying gentle stress to our muscles and ligaments over an extended period of time. There's a much greater focus on actively directing our breathing while maintaining the stress on our musculoskeletal system.

Try a practice, and see how it goes. You might surprise yourself 🙌🏾

Restorative: Tuesdays at 730pm EST

Avoidance is not peace. When we're overwhelmed or just not ready to delve in, it's absolutely an acceptable coping mechanism. During the holidays, when things feel chaotic, this is especially true 🫠

Sometimes, we think that avoiding a situation, conversation, or emotion will bring us the calm we crave. But true peace isn’t found in running away; it’s found in leaning in—with compassion, curiosity, and courage.

When we face what we fear, we make room for growth, understanding, and healing. When we talk about protecting our peace, it actually means healing + dealing with our s**t and not avoiding it. Peace begins with presence.✨️

About Yoga with Jas

Jas supports women who feel stressed, burnt out, and overwhelmed by helping them regain balance, build strength, and feel as though they can BREATHE again through the practice of yoga. She offers a mobile, in-home service that takes a holistic approach to wellbeing. Learn to live empowered and be inspired!

Through a couples yoga program, she also works with partners who are looking to embrace their connection, rekindle trust, and release old patterns from their relationship in order to move forward. Breathe, bend, and build your relationship together
