If you are scheduled to take the SLA, but do not have any previous training or testing experience with working with manikins, Inspire’s "Get SLA Ready! Your Guide to the Simulation Lab Assessment" course is here to help. This online course includes information about what manikins are, how they may be used in the SLA environment, and what to expect when you see them in the lab.

The course is designed to help you feel more familiar with the assessment environment before SLA day, so you can focus on demonstrating your nursing competencies.

If you are preparing for an SLA, we strongly recommend completing the course before your assessment. To complete it, sign into the applicant portal and look for the “Get SLA Ready! tab.

One of the most useful parts of Inspire’s new "Get SLA Ready! Your Guide to the Simulation Lab Assessment" course is the virtual lab tour. This interactive tool will help you become familiar with the simulation lab layout, equipment, signs, supplies, and anatomical manikins you may see during the SLA.

If you have not worked or trained in a simulation lab before, this can help you feel more familiar with the environment before assessment day … and help approach the test with less anxiety.

📄 Once your assessments are complete, Inspire Global Assessments will prepare a performance report that blends the results of all assessment components (CBA and SLA). This will provide regulators with a true and complete picture of all your skills and competencies.

📨 Within 60 days of completing all assessment components (including the CBA and SLA), Inspire Global Assessments will email you to inform you when your performance report is ready to view on your portal.
